I'm really pleased to see Schuey back on form after last season! He was man of the match on Saturday imo and on Tuesday he battled hard again! He has so much potential, as we saw in his first season, and now that his confidence is back, I hope he has a great season!
He will need to be good this season as well, because there will be alot of pressure on him, with Holmes, JJ and MBW all attacking players, he will need to be that rock in the centre of midfield!

i thought he was quality on saturday - back to his old self. didn't see tuesday but was told he was good again. it's good to see as like you say we have a lot of attacking midfielders but not many defensive ones

Hey up, Northern, how thee diddling lad! Nice to see you over this neck of the woods, you too tomason!
I agree re Schuey, I think the gaffer has probably had a word in the shell-like to say you have the world at your feet, now just do what you're good at. He was average at best last season and it is time for him to make the impact he has always threatened to.
He was a little guilty of diving in too often and ending up on his arse on tuesday but all-in-all looks like he can become the midfield general we need.tup:

Strange that many of us thought that TK and Schuey would be good players, CT got rid of TK and seems to have been proved right keeping Schuey
Nice to see him doing well

I really liked Kearney and desperately wanted him to do well, thought the lad had a reet rough deal when he got injured and just hoped he could realise the potential he showed. wasn't to be and in our position we don't have time to be patient. Nice lad as well, met him at POTY awards a few years back.

Shoe Maker - OVERRATED
nuff said
How is he overrated?
Oh aye, sorry, forgot about last season, that massive shortage of City fans ready to shower him in abuse whenever he put a foot wrong on the field.
He's come back in these last two games and outplayed two of the supposed best midfields in the league, and still people like you are commenting on how bad he is.
Give the guy a break FFS.

Fine have a knee jerk reaction to 2 decent games, forget all the amazingly shite performances last season, his inability to pass 10 yards, his late challenges and lack of any attacking threat. Give me crooks over him anyday of the week
I can't believe your saying people criticized him last season, i was one of his few detractors the majority were saying how he was just having (a year long) bad patch and how he was better than crooks. Why? who knows, maybee they just didn't want to admitt to themselfs building him up so much and then being wrong, or maybee because they have limited football knowledge?
Our worst player last season, be a long way.
Where did you sit last season? I must be in the thick of moaner central at VP, every fooker around me was having a go at him whenever he did owt wrong, and I must have only read the posts slating him on various messageboards around the web, missed all these posts praising him.
How am I having a knee jerk reaction? I'm trying to give the guy a bit of a breathing space after he's had two great games and he's still got narrow minded prats saying it'll never last, he's still shite, etc.
FFS support the players or fook off home is all I can say.

I do support the players dont worry about that mate, 100% behind them alll....that is of course if they give 100% effort all the time. Its all i ask of players - wear their heart on their sleeve and get stuck in
Credit to schuey he does do that, just his performance levels have been poor. im not saying he isn't gonna have a great season, all im saying is he most likely wont and will have a job in asda this time next year. Stacking shelves whilst he remenisces about his vastly overrated footballing career
For the record i sit in Middland Road and have never heard a bad word about schuey

I also sit in the Midland Road stand (block C) and all I ever heard last season was people having ago at the likes of Petta, Morrison AND SCHUMACHER! I do think he had an appauling season last year but the season before that he played great!
He always gets stuck in and tries even when it's not going his way! You talk about his attacking presence bantams soul but he doesn't need that now because MBW, JJ and Homles are all attacking and he needs to stay back to help the defence!
All I'm saying is that the lad has played far better in these last two games than anytime last season, he looks full of confidence and hopefully he'll continue in this vein of form!
I fail to see how keeping this notion of Schuey being shite in your head even though he's playing well is getting behind the player 100%.
And predicting players willl be working in Asda next year, yep I can tell your wholeheartedly behind the team.
Surely if you were behind the players it'd be the opposite? Even when he's playing badly you'd be wanting him to do well? Maybe not then.
I can see from the Gillingham thread you've obviously got your miserable hat on today, just hope for your sake it isn't glued on.

Unfortunately its been glued on for the last few years:cool: :(
I'm 100 % behind shoe maker in the same way i was 100% behind crouch when he was playing for england. I think he's cack but that didn't stop me wanting him to prove me wrong and go out and score goals and play well. Unfortunately i was right about the tall one hopefully i wont be aobut schuey though
