I was having a drunken conversation over the weekend (we managed to blag our way into the backstage tent both nights at an Irish Festival in Sion - free Guinness!!jump: beer: love: jump: ).

Anyway we suddenly needed to know who sang the old wedding disco favorite "Gimme Some" (these things are important when your drunk :o ).

I've tried feeding the lyrics into Google but that only comes up with some wierd Jimmy Bo Horne remix.

Another friend recokoned The Sweet, but I can't see it in their discography.

Anybody here know who is is?

Definitely the same song, but the version they play in discos is much louder and more shouty (unless it's just me that sings along in a loud shouty voice :))

The version that got to no 14 in 1977 was by "BRENDAN".

Pat & Mick also covered it in 1991 and charted as high as 53.

Guinness book of hit singles always comes in handy.

However I have a younger sister who more than likely has this dodgy piece of music and is looking for it at the moment
