It's in tonight's T&A, that The Trust have issued a statement regarding Etherington's moonlight flit and their dissapointment that the Club had given the impression it was a done deal (which, to be fair, they did)
Junior has said he will meet the Trust and is disappointed they issued the statement before speaking to him.
Why doesn't Junior just hold an open forum with fans whose eyes he can't pull any wool over with promises of this and that. The Trust speak for about three dozen people, not the 6000 who turn up to games. It's time Junior came out of the Ivory Tower and faced the real fans, not just the ones after a free lunch!!

That's not the issue Panth, but it is a fair point, despite no denials coming from Junior on the subject. The point is, that the club could be potentially in crisis again and the Chairman will only meet with an organisation who only think they are reprasentitive of the club's fanbase, when they are not. He should be issuing the fans in person, not via an organisation that speaks for only vry very smal proportion of City Fans (About 33 Last count, I gather)
It's not acceptable!tdwn:

i think if julian openend himself up for questions it would be the largest attended forum of all time, i really dont expect it to happen though as he really cant be up for the self publicising way of operating that gr was because after years of involvment, i dont think i've even heard the sound of his voice. i am however fully behind him as out of all the so called saviours, he's the only one who has stuck it out

Well I for one wouldnt expect such a forum nor would I want one at this moment in time either - things need to be put right before such a move IMO

i dont expect one either panthar but i think if julian could find it within himself to open himself up just once, to fully explain the lengths he's gone to in order that we still have a club, a lot more fans would be appreciative of his commitment and sympathetic of the situation.......i dont know of any other clubs who have such large scale forums as we have been privilidged (spellingX) to but they obviously date back to gr's regime and as i said on another thread, he never missed an opporunity for promoting the gr brand.....wahooo, 20 posts!!!! jump:

I'm not sure I understand. Would you rather the Trust not say anything and appear impotent?
For the record I agree that JR ought to hold an open fans forum but not for the reasons you state. I don't see anything wrong with the Trust having a meeting with him or expressing a public opinion about concerns over the financial implications the recent news holds for the Club.

Given your former role Mark , I don't mean any offence, but the Trust have been Impotent since the Fund Raising stopped. They don't have a large enough membership or speak for a large enough cross section of City fans to earn an right to an exclusive explanation from Junior I'm afraid. He should make himself available to speak to any fan who has concerns about recent events and the only way to realistically do that is through an open forum.
This hermit non limelight attitude Junior has adopted is wearing a bit thin now and far from being quaint It is another one of his failings as a Chairman of a Professional Football Club. I'm not saying he should go to GR/Ridsdale extremes, but he should stick his head out of the Ivory Tower a couple of times a season instead of neglecting his paying customers. His annonominity can only breed distrust and with me it has done in abundance!

I get your point, Dave, but the Trust does still have members and therefore must act in their interest, so their action I believe is no less than would be expected by their members, albeit that there are only three men and a dog on the Trust mailing list by your reckoning:D .
In terms of them representing the wider fanbase, yes I accept that they don't, however if they can be a method of communication from a very publicity-shy Chairman, then fair enough.
It is akin to the BCISC when it existed approaching JR. As I wasn't a member I could argue they weren't representing me. Only way I can change that is by becoming a member.
BTW I agree that JR should have a fans forum, just doubt he will.
