Funny if we get beat 4-1 by lower opposition, the team gets slated
But if they only loose by an odd goal to a prem side, its not worth a mention

So loosing twice to lower league opposition with a full strength side 4-1 is acceptable and the team/manager etc should not get criticised? And loosing again today is sommat to harp on about is it?.....
Too much sun Mally, you've lost yer marbles......headtap:

Lost 1-0. Well worked goal but started by slack pass by JJ who sparkled in patchs and gave ball away a few times, a good un. The L**ds lad at left back is very good and pacey. City (us) looked ok, nice compact and only in spells looked inferior. Graham at centre forward looks again a good player who seems similar in style to Windass but with a bit more pace. The right winger Roger was soso. All in all not a bad showing and we were not carrying any passenger like Petta and Morrison. Wilkinson was bossing midfield for us in spells. Ricketts was Ricketts one stepover and on the ground injured as he does every game.
We should be ok this season not sure if good enough for playoffs probably not but an enjoyable day out.
Nearly forgot, Symes missed a spot on must score header from 6 yards from a good cross from Colbeck near the end.:D

It was a decent performance, the only real downside was that Windass was very poor and didn't look bothered.
I was pleased to see Todd giving the kids a chance in the second half, Colbeck worked well to get that pass into Symes.

I'd guess that "some folks would want" a hard working, passionate team that work hard and give 100% backed by a tactically astute manager who likes to play entertaining football - is that OK by you Mally?.....

Hopefully it is - and just in time for the start of the season!!.....
Although according to Mally the 4-1 defeats we suffered were also positive results and should be applauded!

Not that bad however never really threaterned them(only about 2 shots) and was extremely confortable....hate to be negative but if they moved out of first gear it could of been a lot more
That ball from colbeck made my day, wouldn't look out of place in the premiership. Nice boots too

Well, as someone who didn't see the pre-season defeats, on the evidence of today we look in pretty good shape.
Misen, win or lose I don't take much notice of pre-season results, especially those first up on the road against lower league teams.
Today might be a better indication. While City(M) weren't busting a gut, they fielded a formidable side, and with the season starting next week CT and our lads probably played it more like a league game than a friendly, and they acquitted themselves quite well.
The back four were solid enough, Bridge-Wilk drove forward with purpose occasionally like he used to when he first arrived, Johnson showed some nice touches and Graham was on his toes throughout, positive, and looked like he wanted to score everytime he got the ball. Colbeck made a couple of nice runs late on, and as wykie mentioned, one of them he left Jordan for dead and put in a fantastic cross for Symes.
Early days I know, but I saw enough to rekindle a bit of enthusiasm for the new season. Especially if he plays Johnson and Colbeck at the same time, although I fear that might be an attacking option too far for CT.
Now where's that number for my William Hill account...
COME ON CITY!!! tup:
