The dead will walk the earth.
I'm having a zombie fest this weekend. I've seen both modern day Romero zombie films at the cinema, but I've never seen the original trilogy. So, I ordered them from Amazon and they came this morning.
Anyone seen them? How do you think they compare to the modern day ones? Night of the Living Dead particularly is regarded as a classic, and that's first up for me this afternoon.

The original "Dawn of the Dead" is the best IMOtup: ...bit of a cult classic with me & my mates when i was a young-un!...If its the un-edited version then watch out for the biker who gets dragged off his bike in the Mall, Zombies tearing the flesh of his arm:eek: ....very graphictup: Night of the living dead is very over-rated IMOtdwn:

Well, I just watched 'Night of the Living Dead'. I'm very impressed.
I found that a good deal scarier than the modern re-makes. There was a genuine sense of menace that the newer ones didn't capture. Ok, I pretty much guessed what was coming next the whole way through, but it was extremely well done.
Just shows that you don't need massive special effects to make a decent movie.

Big fan of the Romero Trilogy and each fan you speak to will say a different favourite of the three. Mine is Day Of The Dead as it gives more of an enclosed feel than the other two, some terrible acting in it but it all adds to the charm of the film. I too saw NOTLD68 for the first time only three months ago and enjoyed it although NOTLD90 was the first Zombie film I ever saw and I love that one.
Nobody does that genre quite like Romero, and Dawn 2004 was a bit of a let down for me, if enjoyable in its own way. Land is pretty good but they put way too much onto the special effects than the actual story.
