It's alright if he is genuinely fit and not being selected in a burst of over optimism. Beckham was selected after he broke his metatarsal and he wasn't properly fit.

A fit Wayne Rooney is a tremendous assett. A crocked one that we are making play just to get the nations hopes up is a liability. I hope he's being picked for genuine reasons.

It will go either three ways IMO....

1. Rooney plays but ducks out of challenges because hes afraid of breaking his toes again:eek: ...ala Beckham against Brazil WC 2002:(

2. Rooney plays his usual game & breaks his toes again:eek: in his first tackle!:(

3. Rooney has made a miraculous recovery & shoots England onto WC glory!jump:...whatever happens It will pish off Alec Ferguson!tup:
