Shock horror for some on here but Rafa Benitez is offering 9.5 million for the one and only "rabbit in the headlights" "not fit to lace Crouchs boots" "One season wonder" etc etc etc etc etc

DARREN BENT

If he paid 8.5 for longshanks im amazed the offer is so low for a guy who scored more in the first two months of the season then el plankio did all season...

Charlton should fook em off..Surely a striker who can score compared to a back pass specialist should be worth a whole lot more...

Maybe Rafa is on the slide clutching at straws to save his job after signing so many donkeys...tup: jump: :D

I find it unbelievable that he can offload one of the Premierships brightest lights, in Cisse. Then bring in Bent, it baffles me:rolleyes:

Then again he hasnt done much wrong at LFC.

Then again he hasnt done much wrong at LFC.Maybe the fact that he was one of the top scorers in the League whilst playing for a mediocre team has something to do with it ...Along with his power, pace, skill, heading ability and all round game has something to do with it...

Bent should if other lesser strikers get a go at the top table of football be welcomed... He at Premiership level performed well throughout the season and took his chances what few he had given to him that is...

I agree about Cisse though thought he was just badly managed by Rafa...

Bent and Fowler will be a very good partnership if it happens...

Or Bent & Crouchtup:
Hopefully Cisse's return to Francais will be halted and he will remain in the Premiership, he'd be great at Arsenaltup:

As it's from the Sun I'd take it with a pinch of salt but it wouldn't surprise me if this guy is moved from "the Bunny in the headlights tag" to a "great value signing by Rafa tag" from the very people who were calling him a one season wonder.

Thing is these same people make arses by the sheer level of contradiction in their opinions.... Thankfuly more and more see through the bollox...

If it is indeed true that Rafa is after him then i think he'll do well over at Liverpool.

'Hopefully Cisse's return to Francais will be halted and he will remain in the Premiership, he'd be great at Arsenal.'

Nah, like Benitez Wenger is only interested in technically correct players with heart and a good engine that can control and pass a football.

The game's moved on, it might sound stupid but goals aren't the be all and end all anymore.

I'm guessing of course but the way I see it the likes of Wenger, Benitez and even Mourhino think a technically gifted cog in the wheel that performs well for a full ninety minutes every week will benefit the team more over the course of a season than a one minute per game bag'o'sheeite that gives you 15-20 goals a season. Blend the two together and you've got the perfect player, unfortunately 'Djib', as us part-time plastic scousers call him, aint that player.

Edit-Oh 'eck, I've just realised there's a possibility you were being sarcastic???

Are you not being sarcastic...???

A guy who has pace and skill and can score goals even whan constantly played out of position against guys with little skill who cannot score????

I wonder if people would buy that shite if they were City players..

It would be like getting rid of Windass and keeping Ward...

'skill'???

Sorry tone, you've lost me. I thought we were talking about Djibril Cisse?

I'll try again.

You see tone, Liverpool and Arsenal are packed to the rafters with quality players that are comfortable on the ball, keep possession and pass the ball brilliantly, and in my opinion both managers would rather have a player that fits in with that style of play rather than someone, who despite running quite fast sometimes and scoring the odd goal, would struggle to trap a medicine ball and constantly loses possession and/or gives the ball away.

In many respects he reminds me of El Hadiouf, decent enough player on his day and bags his fair share of goals. Who knows, he may well star for another PL team or even France in this years World Cup, but even if he does, he still wouldn't be good enough for the likes of LFC, Man Ugh and Arsenal.
