Who would you want to win first given a choice?

It's an easy one for me. BRADFORD CITY.

England.

This has always been the case. Even before The Rhodes' mismanagement and the behavior of subsequent hangers on squeezed all interest I have in the fortunes of City out of me. I post this answer whenever this inevatable question rears it's headb at every World Cup/Euros.

City have delivered as much as I ever expected out of them and more, for happy memories and celebrations . England haven't, so my desire for them to succeed outweighs anything else in football.

If someone offered me an England World Cup/Euro's win at the expense of a City relegation, I'd snap their hands off.

City Alway's.

Scenario; City at home to TB's @ 3pm,
England playing Germany in a WC qualifier. I know where i'd be and it wouldnt be with John Motson:rolleyes:
(It will never happen though , club and country rarely clash)

Bradford v L**ds at v.p, world cup final England v Germany....its a very hard one but i think i'd chose the scummers game, so i geuss thats club for me

Even though, if we went down we would well and truly be fucked (even though you'll say we are now:o ) and probably go out of buisiness....

He's got enough other clubs to support so it's no big deal, he'd just support Celtic or Liverpool or possibly Man U, etc, etc.;)

Alright then. If the question was England World Cup Win or City going Bust (Junior will deliver that anyway, but even taking that fact out of the equation). The answer would still be England World Cup win without a moments hesitation.

I can always go down the Bridge with Rick, for club football, we could car share.

England every single time for me without even the slightest hesitation (as long as its a tournament obviously) - we could be playing Barcelona in the champions league final and i wouldn't swap it to see England playing in a tournament!!
The first game of the season (especially if its away) and the big derbys come close - but do you lot honestly get more exitement than at present with the countdown to the world cup?.... I find that amazing....i'm literally counting down the hours till the start of the world cup - i never, ever do that for City...
World cup is 3/4 weeks every 4 years - City is every week for 9 months of the year....?? You'd all still choose City?...

Utter Shite Matty lad:rolleyes: And you know it:rolleyes:

Barca v City in Champions league final @ Stad de France

or

England V Paraguay in Germany 1st group game World Cup

Both on 10th June 2006

You have no chance of England tickets and as a City ST holder you have first refusal on CL tickets (return flight to paris from LBA £89).

I think we all know where you would be? And its not in the George watching England with Panter:rolleyes:

I see this as a mulitiple answer...I cannot give just one so here goes...

Given the choice of any normal England game or watch city then City it is...Only certain games would draw me away..Friendlies are normally tedious to watch prior to big tournaments anyway..

Given the choice of England World Cup final and City in a noraml game it would have to be England... Anyone who says anything different would be probably the greatest City fan in the world or not ENGLISH...

Now England World Cup final and City Champions League final...Easy City all the fookin way...I was supporting City long before really getting into International football... Plus it would be the Champs League final ffs.

It is City first for me every time in normal circumstances...But World Cup or European Cup finals are different unless City were at the highest level...

A harder one for me would be Championship play off final and World cup final...

Most of the scenarios in this thread are hypothetical and would never ever happen but it is interesting to read peoples answers all the same...

Don't know about the Euro's, but I'd take a World Cup win at the expense of a City relegation.

I don't for a second think it would be the end of us - we haven't got the commitments going on that we once had and things would get sorted out one way or another. It's not at all impossible that we'll see another City relegation at some point anyway.

I've never seen an England team win anything. I would very much like to think that I can have more than just tales of '66 before I die.

Yes, I think we have an excellent chance in them.

McClaren is getting the job at just the right time. Euro 2008 will be his first major Championship, and he has every chance of being the first England manager since '66 to win something.

We would have to be shocking for him to lose his job when we still qualified...????

If we do ot win it he will go i reckon....But not before...

I don't see him getting sacked if the results are going the right way, and with the set of players we have now and presumably Rooney back fit I don't think there is any European team that can seriously threaten us.

I could manage the England team to a European Championship win, never mind McClaren.

Club or country?

A completely false choice because one is not at the expense of the other, one does not conflict with the other. I want success for both and it is not a choice of one over the other.

England for World Cup!
City for championship!
Where's the choice or conflict? Let them both happen. I can't see England's success tripping up City's promotion so why propose this phoney choice?

I truly hope your right and we are invincible under McClaren, i just cant see it. He just lacks that 'panache' for the Big jobtdwn:

I totally agree with you but the scenario was set up as a "WHAT IF" So i posted accordingly....
