Simon Jordon is to sue Iain Dowie due to his appointment as Charltons new manager...

Dowie told Jordon wanted to leave because he wanted to move back up North...

So the club waived the compensation required by any new club...

Then low and behold up north meant round the corner...

This could be a good un...He was just on Sky Sports fromhis holiday home...The guy is pissed and told Dowie to stand by...

Good on him if its true..

I'd be peeved if I were Simon Jordan in this particular situation. I hope he sues Dowie and wins.
Simon Jordan has the ambition, drive and resources to make Palace an established Premiership team, his major problem being he doesn't own the ground. It's going to be interesting to see what happens at Charlton now.

palace ground is a dump
AND
traffic and parking are a nightmare

they need a ground near M25
OR
groundshare at the valley

trouble is although grounds are well under 10 miles apart - takes well over an hour to drive

Yesterdays press conference at Charlton was a joke. Issuing a writ should have been done in private, christ isn't Jorden going to look a right twat if he loses now?

As for Dowie moving up north, if I remember where Charlton's ground is from Crystal Palace he has moved north.....by about 7 miles

Palace is a pain to get to if you are driving, but if you're going by train it's pretty easy to get to. If you know where you are going. The Croydon side of London is a sad place IMO. My other half used to work there. At least in Bradford it doesn't take long before you can get out into some terrific countryside and lots of fresh air. In Croydon it just seems to be an endless sea of built up area filled with obnoxious fumes and pollution.

On the other side of the stick, it would be good if Palace could establish their own ground.

I assume in any event he is entitled to change his mind. At the time of discussing ending his contract with Palace he may have been wanting to move closer to his family, but then he is offered an opportunity, reassesses the situation and decides to pursue a different course.

Isn't the onus on Jordan to have negotiated that Dowie doesn't go into a job so soon after ending his contract? If he agreed to end the contract without keeping the compensation clause live then tough titty, Mr Jordan! And how he will prove that Dowie deliberately fraudulently represented himself is beyond me - he would have to prove that Dowie was at the time of ending his contract was already considering a move to Charlton, and unless an approach had been made then he has no chance.

Come on, Euro, give us the lowdown on this, what chance has Jordan got, or is this just another opportunity for him to blatantly court media attention and get some publicity?

Jordan is a BIG TIT

he could have spent peanuts on a legally binding agreement with Dowie saying that in event of his managing another london club in under 6 months then original compensation payment of £1 million would still apply

it would have been 100% enforceable
so it seems for sake of perhaps £200 he might have blown £1 million

He'll probably do it next time. To be honest I always believed Charlton were in the Prem due to Curbishley. Now he's gone it's going to be interesting to see how they manage. That is one club who cannot afford relegation.
