One or two of the Sundays claim that Paul Jewell has had talks with a third party representing Aston Villa with regards to replacing David O'Leary in time for next season.

Now all he needs is a lunch with Dave Whelan where he can misconstrue and manipulate a flippant comment to convieniently justify to ANOTHER set of fans ANOTHER poaching for a bigger paypacket.

Cynical?? Moi???

lol....he'll then fook it up, cos like Wednesday, Villa are a team who are on a downward spiral.....after which time he'll be sacked after only a year or two in the job.....he'll then have to start back in league 1 with a smaller up and coming team again....tup:

Sounds like a plan but I don't believe he'd be daft enough to do to Wigan what he did to us. Surely he'll realise he's better off there till a proper big job comes up.

After what he's done with Wigan he's surely got a shot at a higher rated team than Villa somewhere down the line.

He was being touted in the papers as an outside shot for the England job at one point - alright that was never going to come to anything at this stage, but it shows that he is well enough thought of to have a chance at something fairly big.

I see him as a successor to Benitez three or four years down the line, which at the end of the day, I'll be surprised if that's not the sum of his ambitions. I would hope he'd not make another sily knee jerk decision that will hinder him in that.
