Yup!! On the plane!! His all round great game play has now been joined by prolific goal scoring.
You'd have to be a numb fcukwit of the highest order to say he was shite.
Kudos Crouchie!!

He always was on the plane, and offers our ONLY choice of a plan B up front when we inevitably struggle against a superior footballing team in the latter stages of the knockout.....from being criticised for not scoring a couple of weeks ago - Liverpool can't fookin stop scoring now....

Hes dog shit!!!
He is not an England Player... If he goes then for me its a waste... All he offers is no pace no skill nothing... Heskey scored how many each season for Liverpool???
Better player all round when he played for Liverpool yet his rep is?????
Crouch is an average player in a team that is top of its game at the moment..

Heskey scored how many each season for Liverpool?
Not many! Big difference between Heskey and Crouch. Heskey is shite Crouch isn't. Crouch weighs in with goals, brings others into the game and takes knocks for his team mates. Heskey takes one rough tackle, disappears and spends the rest of the game on his arse.

Thats bollox Chuckles mate...
When Heskey played for Liverpool he held the ball up, set up goals crosses etc every game..
His all round play for the same club was a million miles better and thats the truth mate and you know it...
Crouch i now have no doubt other than an injury miracle will go to the WC...That still doesnt make him a good enough player...
As for weighing in with Goals, have a word mate....
He is shite for an England International.. Embarressing even with the talent we have.. I would take Ashton, Bent, Vassell, Defoe, Owen, Rooney, Harewood even before that plank....To name a few...

Errrmm no he didn't!
I'll give You Ashton, he should be well above the likes of Bent in the pecking order, especially after Bents abortion of a debut the other week. Ashton reminds me of Alan Shearer and that can only be good.
I'd take 5 to Allemagne Dix Points;
Owen
Rooney
Crouch
Defoe
Ashton

I know plenty in real life mate, and one gets fair more revered than the other and it's the one that they haven't shown the door for being shite!

The thing with Crouch though, yes he's a plan B and yes he's something a little different. International football wise, he's fucked before he starts. As soon as he touch's a defender in an international match, especially in the penalty area, the ref will give a foul against him, simple as that. That's just the way it is.

Good post - and the five you mentioned would be my first choice five too - still think he'll only take 4 though.....we have goals throughout the team, in fact we'll probably score more from midfield so i don't think the extra striker is his priority!! Ashton is deffo worth a punt tho and is the nearest weve had to a "typical English centre forward" since Shearer!!

Every time Crouch has played for England he's been the key man. An on form Owen would have had a hat-ful from Crouch's through balls in the USA. More recently Crouch was there to throw Owen at the header against the Argies and pulled the defence away to let Owen score his 2nd of that match.
He score last time out and caused the defence a headache with height and feel.
Anyone who says Crouch is not worthy of an England shirt knows very little about football and in particular about tactics.
A striker does not always have to touch the ball to be effective. Look at Owen. Both players take defenders out of the game albeit in different ways.
But with the ball Crouch is as effective.

PS~ I agree Ashton is worth a try. Bit late now though, no games before the squad is named.

You are joking right...He was pants in the USA match...He was on the deck more times than the keepers..

He was nowhere near that ball yet still through his hands at it to try Maradonna it in...If Owen hadnt of got to that ball big bird would have been booked for deliberate handball..Rewatch it ffs...

Jokes go into the jokes section ffs...
Plan B..Throw on a big gormless bloke who cannot open up teams with pace cos he has none... Cannot head a ball even though he is 22ft tall, has limited football ground skills...
PMSL...
His goals have been lucky to say the least...Internationally the guy is a joke.Domestically he is not going to be around that long....
Ashton before Bent...nahhhh not for me...
My 5 would be at the moment though
Rooney
Owen
Bent
Ashton
Defoe in that order.....
Sven is taking big bird which only makes me wish a serious injury on the lad...Nothing life threatening but something around late april May time would be nice....Something like dutch elms diesease for Englands own Lumper...

Sod it, you are right Tony, he's pants.

Man City, Boro, Fulham Bolton Liverpool........ ?????
So two sides near relegation, one mid table Sam i have no cash to spend Aladyce and 1 decent team...
Hardly a glowing reference DB...
In fact less Liverpool they are the kinda sides you expect to find someone like big bird..
So your point is then that managers who knew they were gona struggle and wanted a Wimbledon style hoof ball target man tried to scrap for long shanks...
Well no shit sherlock...Thats his level mate...

My only hope is that if he goes (please injury god weave your magic:D ) we will not have to use him whilst on our march to glory...
My vision is though that he comes on in a game we look set to win and cocks it all up making us the laughing stock of football...
Just keep him warming one of his relatives... Him warming up along the touchline in an England kit makes me feel sicker than when Carlton Palmer used to play.....
urghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh No more...

The fact you are soooo wrong about Crouch is mental enough on it's own, but the cherry on the cake is that you actually rate Heskey an' all. You couldn't be any more wiiiiiddddeee of the mark if you tried. Heskey, is without any close challenger, the worse player ever to pull on the Three Lions, his lack of interest and effort was an embarrasment to behold and that was before you even considered his woeful lack of ability.
Crouch had a great game against USA. It cemented, what is now his automatic selection as "the third man" right now.
Had Crouch not come of the bench in the Argie game, we'd be chalking that one down as a defeat. That match was lost until he came on
He has yet to have a bad game in an England shirt. He's in the squad on merit.
How you can bang the drum for a pile of dogshit like Bent whilst ignoring the plus' Crouch has bought since his debut is breathtaking narrowmindedness.
He's a good header of the ball, he's got a great touch he's reasonably quick for a big bloke, he wins a lot of free kicks and he is a dream to play alongside for his strike partners because of his sheer hard work and perseverence. He helps in defence and as well as being on the end of a lot of good moves he also starts a lot of moves.
The only thing wrong with him, is he looks awkward. Only a fooking numpty would judge a player on how he looks especially whilst he's playing really well. Thank fook Rafa and Sven aren't blinkered like that because Crouch's club and country can reap the benefits of having such a good player in their sides.

This season
6 goals in 27 Prem games ????Playing for a team third in the League that is still in the Fa cup..
2 goals in Europe?????
3 in 4 in FA Cup, 2 spawny goals against one of the poorest sides in the country at the moment.
None in League cup
Bent
15 goals in 29 games not bad for a numpty playin in a team thats not in the top half
2 in three in the FA Cup
2 in three in the League cup
Lets look at Heskey for a fookin laugh..
4 in 25 and hes playing for Birmingham ffs.
1 in three in League cup...
Chuckles Crouch is in the England side because of his height nothing more nothing less...
If you actually believe in terms of finishing skill pace and power that Crouch is better than Bent/Ashton/Defoe/ Vassel etc you are a fookin numpty mate..
As for sticking up for Heskey, why not he was and still is a better player than Crouch and that says it all mate..
Dont harp on about how they kicked him out of Liverpool and "who does he play for now etc" Fact is Heskey made life a breeze for Owen whilst at Liverpool because he did all the work for him...Now you can rewrite football facts all you want but thats the truth..
60 goals in 220 apps is not the figs of some useless donkey Chuckles...
He got 13 in Europe too..
His downfall was he as a striker never scored enough.. Everything else was there but the goals..
Whereas Nothing is there for Crouch and he is playing for a better Liverpool side...
He is average at best... Tis not i who wears the blinkers Chuckles...

Don't ask me what triggered it off because I don't know. But I got reading this thread and I thought to myself, 'does anyone truly believe we are good enough to win the World Cup?' Then I started thinking about how many times I've seen England play well in the last two years. We might have the best eleven players for a thousand years, but is a team that got battered by Denmark, lost to Northern Ireland and scraped past Wales in ultra competitive tournament games good enough to win a World Cup?
As good as our players are is there first touch and technique better 2-11 than that of the Dutch, Germans, Italians, Argentinians, Brazilians, French etc? Misen I don't think it is, and the more I think about it the more I realise that to try and out pass and outplay these teams would be futile. Sure Gerrard and Beckham can ping quality fourty yarders, but I'm talking about playing keep ball in a confined space and that incisive through ball after a lightning quick give and go.
Maybe playing Crouch is the answer after all. I reckon playing in a traditional, high tempo, high ball, up and at 'em English stylee could work. It might not be pretty at times, but the fact is even the best players/teams in the world sometimes struggle with it. The thing people seem to forget about when you talk about Crouch being in the team is that our style of play doesn't have to be one dimensional, because unlike teams like Wimbledon, England have the likes of Rooney, Cole, Gerrard and Lampard that can hurt teams playing 'proper' football.
Btw, I've got me interview with Mr Barwick next monday. I'll let you know how I get on.
P.S. Fingers crossed they agree to let me have my old mate Psycho as my assistant eh?
COME ON ENGLAND!

I will toast Crouch's first appearance on the stage of the worlds permier football tournament with beer bought from your ten spondulicks tone.

The only facts i see is that 1) Crouch fits in well into the England squad and quite rightly so will be on the plane, and 2) Bent looked out of his depth more playing for England than Robert Zabica did when he conned his way into the City side......Crouch doesn't need to score many, he's the foil for the goalscorer, any he does chip in with are a bonus!!
