Who remembers right back to the start of the season when 90% of this messageboard was slating the player? I was one of a few who stuck up for him.

Now, he's forced himself into the first team and forced Bower out to left back, From next season i'd like to see Todd or whoever is manager pair Stewart & Bower together more often in the middle so they can build up a partnership and understanding and maybe if Todd wants to play defensive move Wethers to play as a sweeper.

You know it makes sense get the lad signed up on a long term contract.

Wethers as sweeper? Oh yes of course just the perfect speed to cover defensive frailties. I know you're trying to pasture him out gently but give the old lad a break, not exactly Baresi is he. Let him finish his days in his preffered position when he can get a game. I fully understand the Bower/Stewart partnership calls tho.

I hold my hands up & say im glad the lad seems to have proven me wrong, cross fingers ect...
He didn't look to have any heading technique in his first appearance & looked wreckless but he must have just being over-rawed by the occasion.
Lets hope he keeps improving, one things for sure he takes no prisoners & wears his heart on his sleeve, a few qualities most of the rest of the squad could with learning!:rolleyes:

Yeah, dropped eldest lad off there about midnight Friday, he'd just played a gig in town and about 10 of em rolled up there to finish off the evening. He gets pished I stay sober and taxi, somethings gone amiss.

Aye - they were good, we didn't stay that long tho - probs only an hour - went down to see Max the clubs owner who i knew!! Sounded great though!! Can't believe that i never recognised em when they got in the pub - out of all the pubs to go in after the gig can't believe they went to the same one....lol - tis a small world!!..:)
