Have to say i always want English teams to do well in the champions league so i'll most definately be rooting for em - whilst i was hardly on the edge of my seat supporting em, i even wanted L**ds to do well!!
How does everyone else feel, especially with Chelsea becoming the "new Man Yoo" in terms of being everyones favourite disliked club....

That used to be the case for me when English teams were predominately made up of English, Scots, Welsh and Irish but to be honest I don't really give a shit anymore......Chelsea could be Barcelona and vice versa.
I'll watch the game for the football and if Chelsea win all well and good but I won't be unhappy if they don't.

I hope Chelsea win because I'd like to see the English teams progress to prove we have the best league in the world.
Anyway KB I thought you'd be watching Rangers instead.

I'll be switching between both games mate!! We all know which is going to be the most entertaining though!!

I'll be behind the Arse and Liverpool and be hoping the Huns and Chelski get stuffed.

At least chelsea have a (admittedly small) nucleus of English players, unlike Arsenal who played at the bernabeu with none at all.
I'll be cheering on all the British teams, even rangers (just don't tell my glaswegian former flatmate, he'll have a field day).

Xenophobia

The English game is dying, but very few are crying,
When in the past most of the cast were the Brits and the Irish vying,
For a place in the team, living their dream in the hardest league in the world.
Do I need to embellish the old gusto and relish, while,
Plain to see, at least to me, the way the game has changed,
So much of the passion, usurped by new fashion cutting down English Oak scarred and knurled.
Now it's gone mental, too continental,
Too pretty, too petty, too bad,
Where fancy-dans and also-rans have tarnished the Albion pearl.
We have foreign strikers, Euro-hitch-hikers,
Following the cheque where it leads them,
They have no favour for the English flavour which leaves my head in a whirl.
Gone are the days of Charlie George, Hoddle, Best and Waddle,
Now it's Henry and Drogba, alien to my dogma,
Caught red-handed, taking the Standard when the flag of St. George was unfurled.
Watch for the odd English gem, you know, Terry, Rooney, Lampard, Beckham,
So few and far between, rarely to be seen,
The British prodigy can forget ideology as onto the scrap-heap he's hurled.

The idea that the Prem is the "best" league in the word is a myth. Thats why only two Premier League clubs have won the Champions League.

I've never been one to support clubs in Europe just becuase they are English, prefer to support either the better, or more entertaining club. I want barcalona to win through because their football is more entertaining.
An exciting, entertaing team, managed by a brilliant ex footballer and owned by its supporters or a dour, results at all costs team, managed by a translator and owned by a Russian oligarch? Mmmmm difficult one

Sorry to be a party pooper but this season I'll be quite happy if Arsenal, Liverpool et al all go out this round. Lets give Gerrard,Terry,Cole,Rooney, Lampard etc a rest every other Wednesday and hopefully we'll reap the rewards in Germany.
By the way, has there ever been a better footballer than Ronaldhino?! Some of those flicks and tricks tonight were just awesome and that was a quiet game he had by his standards! Lets hope Brazil have at least 1 off day this summer and another team may just have a sniff of the trophy.
