Sorry chaps, but the novelty has worn off. I'm afraid the 'loveable arrogance' and 'breath of fresh air' are no more.

I was going to have a night off tonight but having seen the Robben sending off again and the 'special ones' reaction afterwards I just couldn't stop myself from logging on for no other reason than to call him a c**t! I know it seems far fetched but at the rate he's going he'll be a bigger **** than Fergie by Easter.

Oh, and while I'm here. 'Brainiac', wtf is that all about then? If there's a bigger pile of sheeite on the telly I haven't seen it yet!

Eeh I feel better for that. Carry on.

I have never been fooled by him. Yes he is a good manager, but were I owner Liverpool, Arsenal, Man Yoo I wouldn't swap what I had for Maurinho for all of Roman's Squillions. I love the closet Chelsea fans who bang Jose's drum and moan about Sven, when Mauringho only got the job cos Sven turned it down. His Porto side were lucky with their success in Europe, driven by shocking gamesmanship, which is now creeping into Chelsea's game. Since his move to Chelsea, they've looked no closer to Champion's League success than they did under Ranieri, in fact I believe they've gone backwards in Europe since the lovable eyeties departure. I also Believe Last years Premier League and this years imminent retention would have been achieved without a change of manager.

And as for how good looking he is, that's debate for women who know feck all about the game.

shame on you fawcett........this is a serious football site, where you are not allowed to challenge the all consuming power of the male...........

interesting deduction..........so girlies if you happen to find Mourhino attractive or any other manager or footballer, you no feck all about football......and by implication you need to do one of this site.........

men who drool over the attractiveness or not of half naked women, know feck all about women discuss................

btw chucks you are on my ignore list, that means I don't read anything you type, unless somebody quotes you, and I would edit that if I could as I said the other day, you have nothing to say that interests me.

But none of the women being drooled over on the crumpet thread are there for any other reason than it's part of their lifestyle and profession, that's why they are picked from the pool of totty that happily peel off for the ladsmags.

This thread is about Jose Maurinho's percieved genius as a football manager, not about how good looking he is. So since you are feeling left out I'll sink it to a level where you might be able to make a contribution.

Going back to the original point - i have to agree with Loyalish, whilst i've been a fan of what he's brought to the game - he's turning from being a likeable arrogant sod - to being just a plain arrogant sod.....

And Dave - on paper, Man Utd's first team and up until last season Arsenals first team should have been up there competing with Chelsea, the fact that they aren't/weren't are down to the fact that he consistantly out-thinks Fergie and Wenger - not bad for someone who's "lucky" eh?...
I'll give you Rafa Benitez though - probably costs Liverpool half as much and has proven what a quality manager he is!!

Good morning KB. Can't you sleep??

I don't think that it's too much of a case of out thinking them. More of a case of their teams being in transition. I think had Liverpool bought Owen back instead when they had chance they'd be breathing down their necks now. And all three of them are only a couple of players away from challenging the Blues next season. And that's without Roman's Squillions. I'm hoping what happens is that quality players available for transfer will see the SWP scenario and consider that the big Chelsea payday isn't the be all. If you look at Chelsea now anyway the players that I'd term as the genuine world class ones were already there anyway. All he's had to do is flesh the squad out and admittedly he's fleshed it out with good players, but he's paid more money that world class players would command to do so.

I actually think any manager with a high level of coaching badges could do what Jose has done at Chelsea. I'm not saying he's shit, but his teams don't play in a particularly entertainingway and theres a lot of questionable tactics in the way his teams perform. He's one of the top managers in the country, but he aint the best and he aint "The Special One".

Having watched MOTD again this morning - sober.....he acted like a complete w*nker, Robson was spot on in his anger, and at least Robbo tried to shake his hand - it went beyond arrogance, it was bad sportsmanship and bad manners!! I hope he'd just "had a bad day" otherwise Chelsea fans apart he'll loose the respect that many folk had for him!!
Dave - one of the reasons he has/had my respect is because he could have assembled a team of galactico's at Chelsea, yet he hasn't, he seems to plump for up and coming players (who'd really hear of Essien and Robben?), hard workers or players that give you loyalty - if you look at the end of a match the response from him and his players its pretty obvious they all have a special bond - not many managers around can do that whilst still remaining in authority!! And besides all this he's the most entertaining manager during questioning that weve had since Strachan.....:)

At the time he purchased both Essien and Robben, they were both wideley known and touted as the hottest properties avaialble at that time. They were "not rocket science buys"

Such is the cushy job that Chelsea is, both Robson and Strachan would match the "Special One's" Achievements at the bridge, Christ on a Bike, I reckon McCliesh would even get em in the top half. The jobs a piece of pish. Give the job to a proper manager like O'Neill, Ericsson, Benitez, Hiddink or Rijkaard, then you'd really see a team capable of world domination.

They were no more than "heard of's" - totally unproven at any top level - and totally unproven in the English game!! My point is he had the money to buy the finished article!!!

As far as the rest of what you says goes - well thats a matter of opinion.....i just feel that when he's not being a complete tw*t his personality and style of management adds something to the English game that is positive!!!

He pinched both of em from under the noses of Man Yoo, in fact Robben was due his medical at OT when Chelsea turned his head. Being that Man Yoo are a genuine big club with a track record second to none, they wouldn't have been chasing unknowns would they??

You have purposefully missed the point sunshine. What forum it is in is irrelevant. You claim that BG knows feck all about football because she finds someone connected to the game attractive. So men that claim Gabby Yorath is attractive know feck all? Of course not. I Suggest you look for a different place to post your crumpet contest

I must say I thought Mourinho was a breath of fresh air when he arrived and I liked him but lately he's become an embarrasment. Can he not see the irony of bemoaning a player diving to get another player sent off when he didn't condemn Robben for doing it weeks earlier. The way Porto won the UEFA cup v Celtic was a masterclass in "not quite cheating but just pushing it as far as you can go". The champions league victory the following season was similar and very lucky. A bit of humility costs nothing.

bg
03-05-2006, 09:07 PM
yes you are right jonny. However, the man is passionate you can see that, and he is extremely loyal to his players; roasting them in public is definately not his scene. I doubt he understands or even knows the word humilty exists in the english language;)

However, he needs to make sure his players conduct themself in public in manner that does require any input from him.

See he got a good reception in arriving in Barcalona earlier..

If Chelsea go out of the Champion league this week, Mourinho will get one more crack at it, and if he fails, Abramovich will terminate his contract.

The Millions spent on players and wages isn't for domestic titles, it for the big one and if Mourinho fails to deliver, out he'll go.

Mourinho knows that, it'll eat at his ego, the longer he goes without bringing home the big one, the more bizarre and eccentric his behaviour will become, he'll fininsh up a jibbering idiot rather like Strachan was at Southampton!
