I really hope Chelsea beat Barcelona. It was a terrific win for Aresnal last night, but the irony that Real Madrid had more English players is a bit too much. However the thought of most of the 80 000 crowd being silenced by Henry's magic is one to savour.
Barcelona are a great side, but they're playing dirty in this run up and I would love Jose to shut them up once again with his squad that does contain some great English players.

I'm going for a 2-0 win.

Erring on the side of caution....1-1

I'm sorry, but Chelsea have joined the exclusive club of British Club's that Chuckle wants to see flat on their face in European competition, In 36 and 3/4 years there have only ever been two other members, Leeds and Rangers.

One things for sure they won't top the Arsenal performance of last night.....

Can see Barca walking it TBH - hope not, but i reckon it'll be 2-0 to the Dago's!!

It was a bad tackle, but he should never have been sent off. He fooled the Norwegian ref, and believe me this guy is normally very good.

It was stupid and clumsy - but a red card - WTF!!
He's totally ruined the game now - fookin prick!!

Chelsea will do well to get a draw now being reduced to ten men. Very harsh to say the least.

What did he do to get sent off??

Our sky went dead after 5 mins of the match. :(

Went to make a tackle but missed the ball and ran into the player, it was more clumsy than violent.
Get in, 1 0 Chelsea!

Barca 2 - 1 up but how have they still got 11 men on the pitch?
Ref bottled a clear second yellow.

Congratulations Barmy.
Actually now Jose's Blues have the chance to go to Spain and show the football world what they are really made of. Are they a truely great football team or one that falls apart at the sight of a single red card. I can't wait for the next game.

Agree BiN, should be a great match over at the Nou Camp. Even better if there's a decent ref put incharge of the game.

I think the Barcelona Result just highlights that put on a level playing field, the self proclaimed Special One...aint that Special.

"level playing field" - what, having only 10 players and a dodgy ref is a level playing field is it?

I meant in terms of club stature. I reckon you could take Maurinho and Allardyce and give them each others jobs and there'd be no improvement in Bolton or no decline in Chelsea.

Who knows whether your right or not - but you have to admit, his arrogance and attitude is a breath of fresh air to the premier league - i like the guy, he has the money to buy a team of galactico's but has assembled a hard working team that knocks spots off owt this country has, sure they have a few superstars, but out of Chelsea's first 11, how many would make it into a world 11? (not many) Compare that to Barcelona and Real and on paper Chelsea should be a country mile behind - but yet they're not....he has the ability to out think most other managers.....they aint out of it yet, if they pull the 2nd leg out of the bag then they/him are truly great IMO - if they crumble and go out with with a whimper then i'll maybe agree with you!!

You never know, he could be lucky and get the dodgy refs that gifted his Porto side the 2003 UEFA Cup final and the Champions League Tie at Old Trafford the year they won that.

I'm sure had Chelsea had their choice again, Rafa Benitez'd be the man in the chair and Chelsea's chequebook achievements might not seem so tacky.

They have lost 3 league games in the last 2 seasons, Jose's stats speak for themself. I have to say though that Rafa has really turned Liverpool around. Both are fantastic managers and both would be welcome to the England job for me.

I had the good fortune to attend a presentation by Barca's vice president Ferran Serano yesterday afternoon. He outlined the clubs commercial strategy and, inbetween slagging off Real, made an interesting point about the difference between Chelsea and Barca's strategy. He said that Chelsea wanted success at any price and that they were rebranding the club as a winning machine. Barca, on the other hand, brand themelves as "more than a club" meaning that they represent the culture and traditions of Catalonia, but he added that Barca fans, who own the club, would rather the team played attractive football and lost a bit, rather than played dour footy and won all the time. I was somewhat endeared.
My view on Mourinho is that he is tactictly astute and has a good eye for players. He is out of the Clough school of man management and keeps his players happy despite having to rotate them. He also has Clough's gob, which can be more than a littlen irritating at times. Would he be able to manage a "poor" side? Well Porto were not exactly rich and he asembled a highly effective squad for not a lot of money. On balance I would rather have him in charge than Colin Todd, but i would prefer Ryjkaard. Dream on eh ;)

Jose says he wants to take his b team to Barcelona because he says Chelsea will not get a fair chance. UEFA says if he does that the club and the manager will face sanctions.
The question is does Chelsea have a B team and what about all those other teams in years gone by, who after qualifying for the next round, played b teams in their final group stage matches.
UEFA is full of crap sometimes. Well most of the time actually. I'd love Jose to send a B team and then for them to win. That would really show a few people what's what.

Chelsea's B team is probably better than most first teams in the Prem. Its just a bluff BiN.He will make changes I should imagine, but you can bet Makalele, Essien, Terry and lampard wil be playing. I doubt we'll see Glen Johnson starting, or even Huth.
