On consequtive weekday nights, all prem league ties, probably only one sell among them. Why are the FA murdering this competiton?

Probably becaue the TV companies are paying them to. These games will be broadcast all round the world. That's a lot of dinero.
The FA are made up of a bunch of buffoons only in it for their inflated egos and payoffs, in my opinion.

The offical reason is because they need to loose a weekends fixtures because they need to finish the season early to give Sven more time with the players before the world cup. But they could have lost a Prem weekend and played then midweek instead, but the PL wouldn't have it. It certainly was not at the behest of the TV companies, as they have already paid. Midweek evening fixtures dont get the ratings in the far east because of the time difference; they like those weekend early kick offs best.
Its another example of the FA bending over backwards to accomodate the PL at the expense of the fans.Cant see many Boro fans making their way down to Charlton midweek.

if the FA had a clue - they would see from example of Italy where midweek cup ties draw miniscule crowds

Okay I concede Euro, you know the score better than I in these things. I still think those running the FA are incompetent though. Just need Bates back on there now and the idiot set will be complete.

lol dead right there BiN and the worrying thing is that Bates will probably get back on the FA board if L@@ds get promoted.
Look at the way they have handled appointing Sven's succesor; set up a comittee comprisng of a former TV executive, an accoutant and the man who oversaw the decline of Sheff Weds. Experts!!!
