I've notice Todd is really going for it giving our youngsters a chance.

JoeBo gets a few 5 minute run outs off the bench... then boom, he's gone.

Wright gets a bench spot then next game get's 60+ minutes and with no fit left back in the squad... boom, he's gone, not even on the bench.

Swifty had a couple of 1 minute cameo's at the start of the season and with no fit right back available... boom, he's gone.

Colbeck has had two opportunities to warm the bench without coming on despite Todd not having a fit right winger... boom, he's gone.

Sanasy is showing promise... boom, he's gone.

Bentham on the bench today, nice couple of splinters gained there, what's the betting come saturday... boom, he's gone.

Fuck it, I bet Penford will be gone soon too if he doesn't get a couple of hat-tricks of assists.

Julian please for fuck sake get your p45 out and... boom, Todd's gone.

PS~ Apologies to any of our other bench warming youngsters who have had the boom boom treatment that I've missed.

Before you all write in to complain I should point out that this boom boom tactic of Toddy is not just limited to the youngsters.

Cooke scores a goal to much delight and relief amongst the fans... got most of the crowd in great spirits, lifted the team, the support, the whole ground... boom, he's gone.

Lee Crooks has one silly mistake... boom, he's out in the cold and sent to County on loan.

Todd's formations.... one minute they are there, boom... one minute they are gone.

I could go on but I'll start sounding like Basil Brush in a minute.

Penford was give a glowing match report from sticks tonight. He said that he is going to be very good, he always looks forward, for a pass, and he was involved in all the positive play.

So yes your right, he might have to go;)

I dont think Sansea was a good place to fill the team with youngsters --- the team stuck in there and got a good point -- that we all thought was not possible

Summerbee was wanted out by a large majority of fans rightly or wrongly.

Crooks was crucified no matter what...

The youngsters that have come in came in to fill gaps... Penford is obviously the exception and seems to be pulling his weight...Ive seen him good and bad.

Joe brown Hasnt offered anything new that more senior guys couldnt do.

Wright is left back and we have Bower covering when we play three at the back and edghill when fit... Lewis also plays there...

Colbeck not see..

Sanasy is the odd one out as although he fouls like a trooper i reckon he was worth a punt instead of Claridge...

Youth isnt always the answer and in these times we need the senior players to dig in and square their own mess.

These are not times to blood youngsters who could turn into craig armstrongs lost brothers...

Time and a place for me and the games gone were them...Time now to rol up the sleeves and crack on...

If youth isn't the answer, what's the question?

I'm sorry but we've seen some tripe this season. We've seen players have a 'mare for a month and keep their place. Then we've seen players come in and do a job only never to be seen again.

I've (note the "I") said it before that if you don't give a young 'un a run of games, how are you ever gonna find out if he's good enough.

The quick fix since Paul Jewell left has been to bring in "proven" footballers, and then when they haven't worked?

Well bring in some more.

IMHO now is not the time to give Colbeck, Wright, Brown, Swift, Sanasy (?), Forrest (?), a run of games. That could lead to....well who knows where if some of the doom mongers are to believed.

But, and this is a big BUT, maybe giving these lads a chance if we make the so-called magical 50-points, that could be the time.

Bed them in then, and in the summer get rid of what most people agree are the deadwood that are out of contract, and then next season we may see an improvement in the desire and hunger to do well that has been missing at VP for, what, 4 or 5 years?

Bollocks, missed your last sentence there tone.

All that well thought-out argument for nought.
