If they are then Todd should be the one leaving not Cooke.

Isn't Deano's suspension going to kick in very shortly? If there is an ounce of truth in this Todd must be shown the door.

Relegation looks more and more of a threat with every day that passes.

I keep telling you , it's to allow wages for the loan signing from Southport to come to VP .
Adie will be devastated about Cooke , shall I text him ? :-)

Maybe Its to free up the wage budget to allow another loan signing?
If not then it just highlights Turds incompetance yet again!

cooke better not go, he's a ledge and we need characters such as his at these worrying times...
..if we need to free up wages then let claridge go, or cademateri even
todds incopmetence will once again show if this is indeed correct, how he can let coke go is beyond me. he's a tryer and the only thing weve got like a target man. he gets into the right positions, just is incredibly unlucky and tbh he hasnb't been given too much of a chance this season by turd

I'd like to hear the reasoning behind this. OK Cooke doesn't score a reet lot, but neither do Claridge or Cadamarteri.

What happens if either or both get injured whilst Windass is suspended?

That leaves us with just Joe Brown.

Now I know we can recall Cooke (and Sanasy?), but I bet neither of them will be right happy with Todd suddenly needing them after being let go so easily.

He's just scored for them.

This is so funny to read ..

Now maybe he wanted to go???

Maybe Darlo made the offer and Cokey said yep thats good for me..???

Maybe just fookin maybe it had nowt to do with Todd you sour puss moaning gits..

Nowt like finding out before you kick off... No wonder they dont bring back the death penalty with tits like you lot about...

If he was offered to clubs then it must be cos someone is coming in..

I like Cookey as a player...Couldnt score but could hold a ball up well.. We need goalscorers and we havent got any with Deano out... Only time will tell whats happened here..

But ffs calm down ladies and lets wait out to find the ins and outs eh..

Remember Deano was potentially going and Todd wanted him to stay so why would he just let Cooke go unless HE wanted to go????

Tony I've found myself agreeing with almost everything you post on here but not today!

Just because someone says 'can I please leave?' doesn't mean they get to go! Todd made it clear Cooke didn't figure in his plans and was more than happy to ship him out!

Can't imagine Todd was begging and pleading for him to stay now can you?????

Firstly are you mad??? lol

Secondly , i see your point its just that he was still getting games here and was bound to play when Deano was banned...So thats closer to the end of the season and by then he would have looked better for other clubs...

I just think it was more mutual than we think...We have lost a goood hold up man..Not a goal scorer....

It was sods law he would score tonight...But as to will he be missed...Well the next few games will answer that...A statement from the club as to the whys and what nots would be nice but not likely on this..

Steve Claridge: 11 games 12 sub apps - 4 goals
Danny Cadder... 16 games 12 sub apps - 1 goal
Andy Cooke: 10 games 7 sub apps - 1 goal

Now why keep any of them on the books? Sure Cadders has played more games as a winger so can be forgiven but 1 goal in 17 run outs???? it's not exactly promotion form that.

Just out of intrest, How come Claridge has secured us 9 points with his goals ... hes crap and needs to be out ... Cooke has got us 3 points ... I can see which striker has done more for our league position this year.

Forget the fact that Cooke is a hardworker - that makes no difference when you needs goals to go up or stay up.

Ed

I've just had a laugh at the OMB people complaining about our 30 goal a season striker being sent out on loan to Darlington and you have people slagging off a striker who has got 3 times as many goals as him Steve Claridge.

I'd hardly say Cooke has been a prolific goalscorer for us:

A total of 37 apps and 4 goals isn't good enough for promotion and people can't understanf why we arent top of the league.

Our strikers records speak for themselves.

I'd be hapy for us to have a complete new strike force next season.

It the whole round game, not the goals he has or hasn't scored.

When Cooke was in partnership with Deano upfront it was no coincidence that we hit our best form of the season. Deano raced ahead in the goalscorers charts and everything seemed to be going well.

Cooke was dropped after Todd publically backed him and we haven't been the same since. No one can hold the ball up front, Deano doesn't have half the chances he did when Cooke was partnering him, Claridge is only given no more than 10min a week and Cadders doesn't only not score he doesn't create either. Andy Cooke did all the donkey work for Deano and Deano reaped the rewards, since he was dropped Cadders and Claridge haven't done this for Deano and Deano has struggled.

You can throw whatever statistics up you want but the fact is Deano was at his most threatening with Cooke alongside him, and it is that early season form that keeps us out of the relegation places.

One other thing Cooke linked the midfield to the forwards in away no other players we have did. It is also no coincidence that Bridge-Wilkinson has been less effective and this is because no one can hold the ball up, when the ball was played up Cooke created time for the midfield to join the attack, now it's played up and then lost and played back.

The last time we scored any number of goals in open play was with Cooke on the pitch, most of the goals we have scored since have all been set plays and penalties. Even Saturdays goal was a flick on from a throwing. I haven't seen last nights goal but the fact Wethers scored it tells me it's a set play move.
