Rather than we were shit or they were shit and we couldn't beat them how were we yesterday?

The city site doesn't have a report on as yet, the BBC only has 2 paragraphs and the Swindon site say the game was a non event for 70min and they we're disapointed not to win. The lack of chat about yesterdays game seems to refect the Swindon version of events of a 70min bore fest with some action at the end.

Any views would be greatly welcomed.

We played OK, LEwis was looking very good and saved Wethers a few times who kept getting skinned by there centre forwards.

Bower was brilliant at rightback/right centre half when we went 3 5 2 .... He'd make a great winger!

Petta got stuck in at times it was nice to see him intrested for a change, made the wrong decisions when infront of goal same as Cadders both could of scored if they had more belief in themselves.

Holloway had a decent game also.

Ill have a go, but to be honest I’m a bit fed up with the club at the moment.

The 70-minute bore fest isn’t far off wrong as both teams wanted to make sure they didn’t concede. The problem is that Todd didn’t get a team up for the game again; there was just no passion there which for a relegation battle (of sorts) is just sickening. Sure we will get the usual "...if the players cant get themselves up for a game its not Todd’s fault....” but players like Petta and Cadamarteri are not players I would have in a relegation concerned (not threatened) team.

Again we had a decent defence and Holloway played well again as did Lewis until their player did a job on him and he had to go off. Stewart once again proved he could be a good replacement for Wethers although I suspect he should have been on the near post for their goal. Midfield MBW looked better and Penford is starting to find his feet a little now, Schumacher played ok but he is still overrated in my opinion. Windass is just about back in form although the people around me seem to disagree (I was one of his biggest critics) Cadamarteri is IMO a waste of a place in the team he never really seems to do anything that affects the game for the good. Yesterday at 0-0 he went on a great run into the box he had Windass and MBW (I think) unmarked in the box and he chose to shoot which of course troubled only the faces of the crowd in row Z.

All in all a usual game at Valley Parade and I have lost interest in going to games now, as I am hoping to get myself a house I don’t think I will be getting a season ticket next year. If things change and we do replace Todd I will try to find the spare cash needed to buy one but if not I wont bother.

I could go on about the negatives but to close the posts I will end on the positives:-

Holloway his much improved and Stewart is a surprisingly good defender.

Lewis, Bower, Wether and Ricketts looked good again.

MBW ran his little legs off and took some meaty challenges without getting injured.

Petta looked up for is (well compared to his usual performances!!!)

Windass looks back up for it.

We played fairly well in patches, actually creating clear cut chances for once. The defence held together well as a unit as usual, even when we had to stick Bower at left back. The midfield was fairly average, Petta looked more interested than usual but only beat his man once in the entire game, but they did manage to create more chances than usual. Up front, Cads was ok but should've scored when he managed to get one on one with the keeper, and Windass wasted a few very good chances but took his goal well. I dread to think how we'll play when he's out of the team, no-one else will score the goals. Basically, we deserved the win, as Swindon were dreadful and gave Ricketts nothing to do until the 90th minute, but our inability to defend set pieces and take our chances let us down again.

Thanks for that,

I was actually paintballing in York yesterday during the game and it sounds that it was probably as much fun at the game yesterday as getting shot in the head 20 times by the predator and his high power gun.

Cheers for the responce much apreciated.

PMSL - you come out with some Beauty's Ed - wonder if Crooksy's still "pinging the ball round like Zidane" during half time at Notts County?....:D

no, during the game...according to some of their locals he's playing well and is a great signing, pinging balls around for fun and skinning a couple of other cm's. we should get him back and send them schumachermacher and tk

To be fair he made the chance himself and if not for a great save by their keeper it was going straight in the top corner! You can't blame him for having a pop (If it's the same chance your talking about anyway!!)

Cads is never a striker anyway, he's much better out wide cutting in. Can't do worse then Mr Petta any road!!!

i was watching a re-run on sky sports a few weeks ago and it showed cadders scoring an almost identikit goal in the merseyside derby. what happened to this lad? couldnt score in a brothel.
