Here is his Goals to Games record over the last season and a half.

Apps Goals
League 69(2) 38
Fa Cup 4 2
Lg Cup 3 4
Total 76(2) 44

Goals to Games = 0.56

So all you lot that want rid of Windass, Name another striker in this division you would swap him for and include his record over the last one and a half seasons. There will be one or two (maybe Trundle) but none that are either affordable OR available.

For those who agrue he doesn't care, Look at his track record. He Turned down his hometown up and coming club Hull, even though we could'nt guarantee him security. He has turned down the chance for one last crack at the premier league because "he felt he could take bradford up". Those two were offers with massive appeal to Deano yet he stayed loyal to this club and all this whilst getting slated by the so called fans

Deano has consistently performed and scored goals whilst showing a real passion and desire to play for the club (see reasons aove),Yet still some people want shut

So when the fans have finally pushed Windass out of the club, will it be a case of "you don't appreciate what you've got until it's gone" ? :(

Cant wait for the Windass ban, then all the Windass moaners will be running for cover, because i bet we will be lucky to score a goal during that period. For all Windass faults, hes the best striker in this division.Like Windass said if he hadnt been playing we would be bottom of the league.

Majority of people who do dislike Windass mostly do so because of his inability to keep his mouth shut and his recent spitting the dummy out, though.

I don't think anyone's disputed that he is not our best striker and we may be in trouble should he go.

As soon as I heard about the ban I thought oh f.ck thats our season over - then I took another look at the table and thought f.ckin ell we are heading in the wrong direction for sure now ! but cant blame Windy for that !

Yeah, we sure can't blame Windass for needlessly and foolishly opening his fat gob and preventing himself from doing his job properly for the next 5 weeks, putting us in a major pickle.

The anti Deano lot have not a clue!!!

Tell you something he was gutted when he found out they were gonna sell him to Boro! And over the moon when we brought him back !

Ok hes got a big mouth - thats why I nicknamed him Mr Gobby but his heart as far as city are concerned is in the right place !

I could understand it if he hadnt scored any goals ffs.

Still should have taken 600k for him, i agree his class, but hes not worth 600k, we could have replaced him with that! Just look at Juan Ugarte, hes now gone out on loan for nowt!

But we will be crap without him!

I'm going to get slated for this but I'm actually looking forward to Windass not been in the team.

He has not played well since the Wigan incident and should have been dropped a good couple of months ago!! The trouble is Todd hasn't dared do it!!

We rely far too much on him and I think not having him in the team will give the other players the kick up the backside tehy need to chip in themselves!!

On his day Windass is possibly the best forward in the division, he just hasn;t shown that at all in the last few months!! His ego is over inflated and for a fairly mediocre player he has done very well for himself!!He needs to be dropped once in a while to be given a jolt!!

I'll be honest and say I didn't want him to leave when the £500k offer came in because he seemed to me to be playing the best he'd ever played. Since then he's convinced me to think of him how I used to!!

Deano is great to have when you're winning, but there are just too many negative things about him that I don't like!!

I don't know for sure, but from what I see Windass weilds a lot of power in the squad. I also think he intimidates a lot of other team members, especially the younger ones, and CT seems to have been buliding the squad around him. So yes it's going to be interesting to see what happens to the team during his ban.

as far as i can see, deano is the best footballer in our squad by a mile. ok he's a gobshite and a bit of a clown but he's still one of the best players ever to play for city.fact.
some of the touches, turns and passes he plays are above the level of the players he is playing with and thats a big part of the problem.
without windass we're below average in this division and that could drag us down if a bit of bad luck goes our way. i hope he plays until he's 40, nobody else is scoring!

If he is such a liability and lacks any sort of passion, how can he be putting us in a pickle? Not being selected is EXACTLY what you moaning ***** wanted. Well guys, i just hope you enjoy the next 5 games and don't worry im sure you can find something else to moan about. *****

i dont think anyone can fault deano for his ability but he can be lazy when we're loosing as his confidence drops, and thats not good enough cos he should be working harder then. he stands out as being our best striker cos there is no one else... its not a case of wanting to get rid of him its just that he's not always a team player

I think the 5 match ban is extremely harsh. I know he can be gobby but all he allegedly said is dont give up your day job (in jest) why cant referees get a sense of humour and take it in jest instead of crying to the FA and spoiling this teams chances of promotion.
Players get much less punishment for far harsher offences on the pitch. There was no threat or abuse from windy as he had his son with him.

This argument has been done. Sooty, depends who you believe. Plus he didn't contest the charge - if his comments were innocent as suggested why not contest it?

Put this one to bed.

i aint going slate you, infact i'm going to agree with you:eek:

he's our best outfield player. no doubt about that, but i feel he has a negative influence on the team at times

it'll be interesting to see how this run goes, i reckon we wont have a goal drought, infact cooke will be on fire scoring 4 in 5:eek:

we'll still lose them though, deano or no deano:(

When the Wigan bid came in we all still felt that this season was going to be a good one!!

We'd not had a bad start and hammering Rochdale 5-0 in a very convincing performance was the icing on the cake.

If Windass had gone I don't think we would have done any worse than what we have done since the saga. Many of us, including myself, would probably have blamed the sale of Windass on the pretty crap situation we're in now.

What has Windass actually contributed since then? Pretty much naff all and the penalties he's scored could easily have been converted by somebody else in the team. On that basis we DON'T need him like he seems to think we do.

The other thing that really gets my goat is that he thinks we owe him!! Get over yourself Deano, you're blessed with the fact that you can play a game you enjoy and get well paid for it!! Most of us work our backsides off to then trail hundreds of miles using our hard earned cash to watch you play!!

We are Bradford City fans at the end of the day NOT Dean Windass FC fans!! I don't care who's playing/managin/chairman aslong as whatever they are doing is for the better of the club and at the moment Deano isn't really doing it!!

You're post, which mainly centres on calling me a 'moaning *****' makes no sense. I've said many times that he will be sorely missed on the field, where the fook have I said he lacks passion? Come on mate, don't fire unfounded allegations at me, that's not on...

My point is he seemingly lacks any sort of maturity, I can't stand the guy for that, he is an utter tool. Now he's receiving his wage for a job that's he's unable to do because he's acted like a prat, just when we need him the most.

BTW 'moaning *****', where have you got that from? I've made about 30 posts max on this board, mostly about the games this season and ocassionally on other issues regarding City. If you read back you'll find that I'm actually one of the few on here that doesn't come on here and moan every fookin day about the players/the youth system/the lack of finance/Todd/JR/the stadium/the pre-match and half time entertainment/the lack of atmosphere etc, etc, the list goes on. Heck, even yesterday I was trying to stop another doom and gloom tirade from starting on the 'FAO Julian Rhodes' thread started by Parrot. Think before you type please because you have really wound me up by saying that I'm a 'moaning *****'.

Dont det too exited/upset lee. The post was not solely aimed at you. Yes parts of your quote were picked out but as you quite rightly point out, you have made about 30 posts max. The moaning ***** know who they are and it is this constant criticism of one of the few players I consider to be doing his job at a good standard that annoys me.

p.s. Just because you didn't like what i posted doesn't mean i didn't think before i posted. If you stick around long enough you'll find there are lots more who can upset you better than I!! ;)

By the way Deano scored again! Good job he is suspended, it might save a few calling on Turd to drop him!

Citys top ten goalscorers in all competitions:-

1 Bobby Campbell......143
2 Frank O'Rourke.........93
3 Shaun McCarthy.......80
4 Joe Cooke...............79
5 John Hallows............79
6 Dickie Bond..............73
7 John Hall.................72
8 Dean Windass........71
9 Bobby Ham...............70
10 Bruce Bannister.......68

On top of that Deano is one of only 19 players to ever score 50 league goals or above for city and currently sits in ninth in the all time league goalscorers list for City.
