View Full Version : how to win...

i went to the colchester match last saturday and it's taken me this long to puzzle through some things i have seen.
it was pretty obvious that colchester were going to win even before the first whistle as after trotting out of the tunnel they huddled together in a team talk style bundle whilst our lads all stood around like lemons.
personally i think at least one person in that dressing room has terrible management skills and this includes being unable to motivate or boost his own team. if CT can't do this then i believe it's up to Wetherall to pull his finger out and properly support these lads, not just say that he is. if CT is not encouraging him to do so (which he probably isn't) then it's up to DW to sort it out himself being captain. i think if he had proposed a team pow-wow last minute on the pitch to bolster his team then i believe that we could have kept up the momentum for the entire game instead of becoming disheartened after the first colchester goal. only tommy penford from the whole team kept the pressure up all match... so no wonder it was 3-1.
stewart had a great game too but the other lads' hearts just weren't in it. they need the motivation of a good leader -- be it CT or DW but someone needs to do it.

city have a bad attitude problem: deano regularly complained if he didn't get the ball passed to him so that he could get a shot but he hardly did anything else except a few theatrical whinges. if he can't be arsed to fight for the team or if he is just too old to run around anymore then something should be done about it. no-one wanted to have a shot at goal they all just hovered around the edge of the box because they lack confidence -- back to the morale boosting leader theory again.
we need the young ones in the team to breathe some fresh air into it. maybe sanasy has an attitude but maybe bradford could use it to their advantage -- he has scored 13 out of 13 afterall.

we have a great set of lads at city. we do, and although you can always criticize them and have a go in actual fact you can really get the best out of people if you get behind them, support them and show that you believe in them. we as fans should be doing this and it should be the utmost priority of CT and DW -- so i hope they bloody read this and see sense in my words and ACT upon it...

Mmmm, interesting
I dont think we will miss Windy as much as some think.

i dont think the lads would miss him at all -- i wouldnt be suprised if he spent the entire time in the changing rooms whinging instead of getting his attitude right to go on the pitch...

When Windy is free he usually helps Derm Tanner do the bantams World commentary, and to be honest, he is very passionate over the city team

Aye in a dummy sunday league standard. Dean Windass has 16 already in THIS division and yet still people say we should get shut because he brings nothing to the team

FFS guys, WAKEY WAKEY, He has been the only goal scoring threat we have had in the last few seasons and without him I believe Jimmy's prediction might just have half a chance of becoming reality. :(

My prediction will be real enough Queenie come the end of the season.Without Windass for 5 games i will predict this,we will score 1 goal from open play.

And that will be if we are lucky.Windass not in the team and Todd as manager = No goals.

and back in the basement league after a 24 year absence - the TB's went freefall through 2 divisions , why some feel we won't is beyond me - JR should have fired CT before now .

Wisey aggree fully, but the only difference will be if City go down thats the end of the club.

if that were to happen , i would go and watch amateur footie instead at the very most , the thought of watching another professional side would be unbearable - City or nothing for me . :-(

How many has he scored in open play in the last 5??? Go on make it a bit more respectable Jimbo, in the last 10 how many has Deano scored and how many has everyone else scored????

Open play eh, so dont forget to take off Deanos Pens matey;) :D

He has been wasting away in midfield untill the last game!!!

If you actually took a bit of notice on matchdays, T, you would realise that Todd doesnt set out to score goals - he defends hoping to nick a goal!!
Hence the few games we have won have come about due to last minute flukes (when opposition have switched off) and from free kicks!
Very rarely do we look capable of scoring many goals from open play - i doubt much is done on the training pitch in the attacking third!!

You mean playing in midfield where people have been crying out on here for him to play???..
The chances are there they just are not going in.. You do talk some shit..

We have more than enough chances and you know it... Even in the Colchester game we had more than enough..Difference being they put theirs away...

This makes a lot of sense, especially getting behind the team and supporting them make lots of noise (positive) when they come out on to the pitch. Give them a morale boost from the stands!!!

COME ON CITY
