View Full Version : CIS Family fun day a very good idea BUT...

More than likely the families that turn up to the Bristol game are going to be treated to a big bag of sh*te from the team.
Short of us going on a six game winning run i cant see Todd regaining the support of the fans. If theres a double whammy loss against Swindon and Swansea and Todd is still here then i think there will be some very vocal protests at the Bristol game and a very anti-Todd depressing atmosphere.
Something that kids may not enjoy e.g 'Daddy, why are our fans booing our team and shouting naughty words towards that man sat on the bench in the dugout who doesnt seem to be doing anything?' If you get my jist.
I just hope Todd gets the boot before the Bristol game so any potential supporters will be encouraged by seeing fans get behind their team.

your daydreaming if you think we wont lose to swindon or swansea, fact is the day will be a big waste of time and money and imo it will not encourage many extra fans

Well lets just pack it all in now then  Time and time again the club is slaughtered for not trying to encourage new fans to the club and when they do come up with an incentive all people on here do is moan. The negativity on here is staggering, The club puts into place a 'funday' and immediately you and dbantx jump on the idea claiming either it wont work or as dbantx stated "new fans shouldn't come while we are losing"
Sort yer selves out boys :(

Sooty/Queenie,its called reallity lads.If we lose to Swindon and Swansea we will be in deep shit. Then the family fun day will be a nightmare if the fans vent their wrath at Turd during the game. Those potential young fans and their parents will have been put off by the shouting, swearing and abuse directed at Turd. This is the real world,i would like nothing more than go to the game and enjoy watching a passionate set of players giving their all,but thats not going to happen under Turd and thats fact.

Yeah but how can the Club plan these to fit in with a day when we are going to give 100%, get the right result and have a fantastic atmosphere? I get the point but at least effort is being made to try and do things differently and get potential new people through the turnstiles. even 1% of those attending who have never attended before returning for another game would be a result.

someone has read my answer on here im sure and posted a question about the fun day on the omb who is it.
fatbantam i get the planning thing, but if i was part of the board i would plan it for the first home game after Todd has been sacked.Barring that the first game of the new season when there is anticipation for the coming season.
Jimmy you need to change your style if on other messageboards, you can spot you a mile off, The Teller!

well said wisey. My 8 year old son is mad about Bradford City and is happy to tell all his friends at school he is a supporter even though they are followers of fashion and support Liverpool, Man U or Chelsea. We will be driving over from Chester that weekend for my dads 60th and have promised to bring him and my 4 yr old, my sister who lives in Bfd with her two daughters and my mum. The last thing they need to hear is foul language and abuse. This will definately put visitors off and will not help increase attendences. Mind you if they do lose i may plug my sons ears and join you

sooty, it's part and parcel of footy, foul language and abuse etc. If the parenting is good enough kids'll do like I did, know when to use it. You can't protect them from it, they'll hear it at school, outside on the streets etc so the issue is ensuring that they know that it is not clever to use it in front of their parents/other adults etc. I used to love coming to footy as a kid, and the swearing etc didn't offend me - it made it more real.
jimmy, get your point and agree - had it been planned for start of season would have been better, anticipation, enthusiasm, naivety etc would have made for better atmosphere. So what's the plan, sack Todd to ensure the CIS fun day is a success? Sounds good!
