I know this will be hard for some but, all that's required is the name...

No life story...

If one was to be appointed, a realistic one that is, who do you want???

For me and as already stated....

Dennis Wise. :D

Ahh but he's had success at lower league level, he's cheap and available. <edit>

But Scunny are below us in the league...
BTW
What was Stuarts reply when you asked him when he was returning as manager on thurs night.
He was getting asked by everybody it was getting as cringey as the office

TBH i felt a bit of a twat - i said "when are you coming to manage us Stu" - he said "you've already got a manager" but he said it in a way that made me feel a bit twattish, like i shouldn't have asked him whilst Todd was still in charge....lol :D

I have a choice of two player managers I would love to see at City, who if City had the money to build, could do really well in making names for themselves on the manager circuit.

Alan Shearer (Would never happen)
Ole Gunner Solskjaer, this guy is very intelligent, the reason why he's banged in so many goals as a sub, is because while sat on the touchline he's analized the game and when he came on he knew the other team's weakness. He's just coming back into the game, but I think he's probably past playing for the premiership, but at this level he could knock in quite a few goals. I think one day he is going to make a great manager.

Hell I can dream can't I?

McCall & Beags partnership
Terry Dolan or Stan Ternent to steady the ship when CT walks the plank along with BD .

Although I know many have a great passion for Dolan and his connection to City. I'm afraid as a manager he's crap. If he was any good he would be a manager now, but his record is poor and look what he did while he was at York. He took them out of the football league. He's just desperate to get back into the game.
We need someone who is proven or has potential, not a proven failure. We've had too many of them.

I disagree about Dolan. He was great.

Why not McCall with Dolan as assistant?
Dolan taking temporary charge till McCall comes in the summer? That would be a top plan.

Either that or a McCall - Beags partnership.

I can't see the big rush to get McCall in, i think we need to be in a lot more stability before he'll even consider it - or i'd want him here......Beagrie would be a good medium term stop gap and not only would bring some much needed charisma and exitement - but can also still play a bit, not only that, its a pretty much well known fact he'd give his left bollock to come manage here - i'm not sure Stu would at the present moment!!

Dolan nearly took us into the top flight in 1988 , and was only let down by the last day defeat to Ipswich - when he had to put injured players on because JCT would not allow him to bring in more players when needed - funny how he found the money when he fired Dolan and put Yorath in !

And Yorath took the same team and nearly bankrupted us and set us back about 10 seasons.
Dolan did a fine job and should never have been sacked.

To be fair, when Dolan got the sack, it was the right decision, he'd done well but had lost it by the time the axe fell. It'd be a HUUUUGGGEEE step backwards appointing him as manager now. However, I always thought in the days when we still had a cat in hells chance of tempting Stu to take the job, he'd have been an ideal experienced right hand man to aid Stu.

I still think Beagrie or any manager not equipped or experienced won't work and improve on our position. The only inexperienced ex City player I'd risk is McCall, because he's the only one who's prescence alone will bring people back whatever our league position. Beagrie was a great player, but the legendary status is mainly in the eyes of the Premier League stayaway fan. McCall's contribution to the past history of Bradford City spans two generations of fan. But again, all hypothetical, because why on earth would Stuart risk his reputation and career being handicapped by the Keystone Cops' unique brand of business management??

If I was making the choice with what we could realistically attract I'd go with, John Hendrie, Chris Wilder, if we wanted a City connection. If ex player isn't the criteria, Tonyd's shout for Dennis Wise is a great idea and even though I posted it tongue in cheek originally, I think Mark Wright would be a realistic and capable target.

Cant see anyone touching Mark Wright with a barge pole myself.
Cant believe Dolan has been mentioned, he had one lucky season and has done nothing since.
The fact is no manager with a decent pedigree is really gonna be interested in coming to Bradford, we may have to take a gamble, we have done it before with varying degrees of success.
Stuart Mcall is immortal as far as I am concerned but I feel appointing him would be a deision from the heart rather than the brain. I think Peter beagrie would be the better choice, an intelligent football brain, a vast experience of the game at all levels, a love for the club and lets face it he's cheap.

I don't recall 87/77 as being a "lucky" season for City or Dolan - they worked their butts off to get us results - I remember us winning at Boro and Stix getting at least one goal , also the first match at VP when we won 2-0 and it should have been 6 , such was our dominance that day.

It was a great season but it was a one off, he's done nothing in the 18 years since.

He hasn't. Soon as the Team Cherry Built broke up he did feck all till his inevitable sacking. He spent the last year of his York City deal on "Gardening Leave"
