Now i have spent today pondering what i actually saw yesterday and how i should react..

However after spending the game watching Bradford players to look for scape goats all i could think about was how tired the players seemed to be in the second half...

First half we were ok and matched em their first goal was amazingly spawny BTW... Garcias second a gem of a header which if DR had being on his line he would of easily saved it...

Second half we were as poor as ive seen in a very long time except for the ten mins the subs came on..

They, Colchester that is, look a good side who play the ball round very very neatly...They looked like a promotion chasing side..

Indeed if it wasnt for DR yesterday we could of easily shipped 6 or 7 goals...Not through bad defending but through their excellent attacking build up play..

The system was working first half and only when they upped the gears were we soundly beaten... No matter who come off that bench yesterday we we always going to be second best to them..

Things i noticed were

DR was amazing with his saving ability...World class even...However his kicking is attrocious and allows teams to come straight back at us time after time...If he doesnt get sorted out he will be too much of a liability..

Wethers remonstrates more at the officials than he actually defends ...Once it happens its too late the decision makers will not change their minds...

At the back we were pretty decent Stew Peas being the best..Solid again.
Wingbacks if thats what they are supposed to be were ok Holloway was more than competent once again for me.

The midfield were shocking second half and provided nearly nothing to the frontmen to go along with there lack of help to the guys at the back..

MBW i suppose did the best out of those on show... Penford was shite and

Deano fanned in and out...

Up front we are light weight and Cooke for all his huffing and puffing just isnt going to be any use and should go at the end of the year for me...

Penford isnt the player so many scream about on here neither is Jake Wright...

Relegation i still think is far far away..We lost to a top side football wise..

Todd should have changed things earlier but he saew what we all saw and knew he had little that could improve our chances...

Never been to Colly before but i can now honestly say i will not go back its a right shithole of a ground...Couldnt even fill it 4500 ffs and Championship bound.....

I met Panth and thank her for her company during 90 mins of poor poor football..

Ive got to agree with your sentimenst and analysis Tone. When I dropped Zonne at the Eurostar terminal this sfternoon after a splendid lunch he said what a marvelous weekend he had, only spoilt by such a shite game. Todd should have made his changes earlier and I agree about Rickets, I was shouting at him to throw the ball rather than kick it and lose possesion straight away. MBW was good flashes, but our approach play was pretty poor most of the time the defence was having to work too hard becuase of the useless midefield; atrocious passing.

I knew Colly was shitehole since I went there a couple of times to watch them against Wycombe in the conference in the late 80's early 90's but thought they may have done a bit to the place in the interim. Hope they get their new stadium sorted, but will they fill it?

Many thanks to Panther for the book, which i will review when I've finished, for now suffice to say it looks very interesting!!

Hope to meet you for a pint at a game one day Tone, perhaps Brentford?

Stewart best defender? From the hightlights I saw this morning it looked as though Garcia easily got in front of him with the diving header for their first goal...blatantly his fault I thought...

Thats strange, Tim & Sticks on the Pulse said Colchester were "Very direct" & weren't that good a side, just that we were "poor" again in the 2nd half!

Who do I believe then?

Your answer is in your first question mate...

90 mins in a match not a split second..The guy cleaned up most of the shite left by defenders and midfielders who either couldnt keep up with play anymore or couldnt be arsed..

Every game he has played when i have been watching has shown this lad is a more than apt replacement for wethers....

Sticks had sunk a couple in the Drury pre match sat across from me.....

Wont bite there though mate believe what you want Parrot...

They spread the ball really well and are a very good footballing side trapped within a shite set up of a club...

Unlike you P im happy for you to have your own opinion based on the facilities you have to produce one...

Thing is mate i dont see another side... I say it how i saw it and thats it...If i hear it one way i would wait for the views of others who had been... Then make up an opinion...;)

Thats all i have ever done matey..:)

Plus im spot on with how i call it...I never where the C&A blinkers when watching and commenting on matches...;)
