Polite Warning - Please don't start up a racist thread as this is clearly the way this thread is going, if you feel the need to argue the PM facility is availible.
On what grounds do you base that? It looks to me like two people who live in the same place discussing a differnce of opinion on said place.
Your response here Thorney is exactly the kind of eager oversensitivity that I highlighted on giving my misgivings about how this board is moderated on the "Big Brother" thread. It will soon get to the stage where we are being told what to post and as a moderator you must realise that is something that won't wash if you want a regular and varied stream of posters.
The moderation and eagerness to flex "moderation muscle" is the only thing letting this community down at the moment. The need for Moderation is a necessity, especially when you see what happened with the OMB, but the only moderation I have seen so far is an oversensitive urge to stifle what "might" happen. The examples I give are; this thread, The Boxing Thread (which everyone, including the two people having the so called "ding dong" could see was tounge in cheek) and Prawny's Rabbi Username.
A good moderator, like a good referee is someone you don't notice. There are a couple on here, I would say, to press, we are noticing too much.
Just constructive criticism.
I will accept your criticism and listen to your point of view on these issues, most people tend to learn from their mistakes, but you have to remember that what may not offend you may offend others and as this is the genral chat section, therefore the most strictly moderated I felt a polite warning was needed. Citygirl accepted the polite warning, you didn't so as you can see you can't please all of the people all of the time.
If you would like to talk further about this issue feel free to PM me or contact me on my Yahoo Messager account, we have to work together to make things better.

To avoid confusion. I didn't post the original posting in this section, nor did I title it "Moderation Complaint" It was in response to a post by Thorney in the "General" Section of these forums.
The thread that this complaint relates to is found here,

It is obvious. If you're so concerned about it being hidden I'll make the thread sticky.

I'm not. I just cannot see WHY it was moved in the first place

Whatever happened to freedom of speech......
Whatever happened to freedom of speech......
Freedom of Speech exists, but freedom of speech isn't an excuse for racism.

Whatever happened to freedom of speech......
Could you give further detail on how precisely you think anybody's freedom of speech has been affected?
Posts containing political discussion have been placed in the political discussion forum. They have not been edited or censored in any way. There is a direction marker in the thread they have been removed from.
The aspect of the old OMB which discouraged the largest amount of posters from using it was the prevalence of racial issue threads in the General Chat section. We wish to avoid that, and therefore such discussions will be placed in the political discussions forum where people can choose if they wish to view them. However, provided these discussions stay civil and do not advocate illegal activity they are not being moderated in any way.

As far as i can see the thread actually started out as a "well done" to Ed and his team (which i second)...what i cant believe (and to me this illustrates people who are going out of their way to pass negative comments to others) is people saying it should be scrapped or its not as good as another site. If people dont like the site they can not visit, this site solely offers (IMO) an excellent alternative to other sites...it is not intended to rob business/cause problems relating to other sites but solely to offer an alternative to the web community of BCFC fans.
IMO this board has added a couple of extra features and options to the online BCFC community... and certainly in my case has improved my visitation of 'tinternet....and actually, has increased my communication with other bantams (a fine example of this is the chess thread/league where users are encouraged to chat with other bantams over a game of chess..or other activity...this is valued interaction to an exiled bantam and i found quite enjoyable - even though i lost - Ba"£$%d)
SO in conclusion i would say to those who have a problem with this site it is because thaye have an issue which is clearly not related to the site...threfore their complaints are not valid. As for the moderation issue i disagree...vising this website is like visting someones house/office they have rules and regulations and we all need to abide by them...are the moderators heavy handed.....who knows....i have been modded once before and i have no beef with it, after all the people who host/run this site may be liable for legal action in some cases if they do not take preventative measures against certain postings (inciting racial tension/personal attacks/etc????)

Blimey, here's a blast from the past.
Yo tim, 'I'll make the thread sticky.' Apart from my bedsheets at 4 o'clock tomorrow morning, what is 'sticky'?

Sticky is a thread that stays permanently at the top of the forum. If you look in General Chat there are two at the top.
