Scratch all my entries to both Rick
The Fantasy Football table is only shown when certain individuals are doing well, despite numerous numerous offers of assistance to yourself in order that a table can go up every week.
The Prediction League is tailored to suit certain individuals. Despite overlooked cases of edit cheating and the favoured being allowed to scratch a weeks whole fixtures cos "they forgot" , I have plugged away at the top regularly using no abuse of the rules or expecting favours when things haven't gone too well!! What's the point of playing the game fairly, when others can abuse the facilities and get favours to help them achieve their totals??
If winning means that much, just do competitions for yourself and the ones who haven't pissed you off in Cyberspace in any given week mate!
I knew something like this would happen, that why I told Wykie to start the fixture from Saturday not the midweek ones, and I knew I'd be the one singled out for it.
As for the fantasy football there is a reason that hasn't been updated which I won't talk about on a public messageboard which is why I have left the Prediction league in Wykie's hands, I issued a notice about it the other day.
Feel free to contact me by PM to discuss the matter further.

Keep Tuesdays predictions in the scores and theres no need to discuss further, if not, scratch my teams as requested. No point playing the game if there are going to be obstacles in front of those doing it properly.
I'm sorry to see you leave the competiton but I'm afraid I will have to go witht the rules set out at the start of the competition which state,
4. The prediction thread will be availible to submit entries at least two days before the day of the 1st game in each set of fixtures.
Prediction League Rules (http://www.claretandbanter.co.uk/t3640-prediction-league-rules.html)
If I allow the scores to stand I would be disregarding this rule spelt out at the start of the competition before the first predictions were posted.
I make this desision knowing it will cost me an 8 point hit which would almost certainly save me from relegation.

Couldnt there be some kind of resolve to this, the people who submitted there scores took the time to think about the predictions and submit them. is this time and effort wasted? Everybody who takes part in the competition knows when league 1 games are being played so they should check the prediction league thread at least a day before the game, plus the games been on a tuesday night surely they could have checked it early tuesday. Everybody knows you will be busy doing PL and fantasy football and posting so i dont see a problem with the prediction thread been posted late.
Possibly due to the circumstances couldnt the scores for this round be halved, if odd rounded up?

I have had little sucess trying to login on this site for the last few weeks and the site was not available before i went to work so i was unable to make any predictions midweek.Lets hope the site is more stable now.Keep up the good work, this site is far superior to the official one.
Cheers Foghornleghorn.

There was a problem with the site, entries are allowed be entered until just before the start of the games, those who tried to post on the day of the games were in there rights but there was a problem, therefore a cancellation is justified for all entries, it seems fair to me ---
I am doing badly but Tuesday was good for me, but to me the decision is fair

Cant see what all the fuss is about. As there was a problem with the site, not everyone could get on and seen as some posts were disapearing for a day or so....
Dont count Tuesdays scores.... simple.

This is official notice to scratch my teams from all competitions Rick.
Like I have just discussed with you, those that wait till late on to predict so as to see what those around them in the tables are predicting are the only ones who lost out on Tuesday. The website crashing should be counted as an unforseeable circumstance that is a hazard that those waiting till the last minute have to account for. Wykie should be holding his hands up to his cock up to those who didn't score, whilst counting the predictions of those who did enter as normal whilst encouraging everybody who participates to predict as EARLY as possible in future. The minute the fixtures went up on the MB, that was the ok to play signal, now you quote some silly rule you are now twisting to back yourselves up.
I am confident enough in my ability to prredict the scores with no help from the edit button, I am always one of the first to get my predictions in and have and still am consuistantly in the top two or three of the league by playing fairly and in the spirit the game is intended. Decisions like this don't exactly encourage others to stick to the rules do they? people have failed to predict in the past, why wasn't the results of everyone else discounted those weeks too?? Will somebody "forgetting" to predict in future ensure that those around them in the league, don't get any points that week too? You are opening a huge can of worms here.
By depriving those who entered on Tuesday, the points they honestly accrued, you are giving the advantage to those who fly close to the sun and bend the rules. What signal does that send out?
I will not participate in a competion like this, where favourtism is shown AGAINST those who play a fair game.
I hope the eventual winner accepts my congratulations on the HOLLOW victory these events have now guaranteed.
My question is what is more of a HOLLOW victory?
Beating someone because you had an 8 point lead because they couldn't enter their prediction due to the site being down and the rules stated at the start of the competition were disregarded.
or
Beating someone by wiping the scores clean because the site went off-line for a substancial period throught nobodies fault and it clearly says in the rules that the prediction thread has to be posted at least 2 days prior to the fixtures.
I know which one is more of a hollow victory.

This competition was set up for a bit of fun.I personally don't cheat. My advice Chuck would be to jump into your tardis and return to your home planet because your not on this one. Perhaps you come from Fullers.

With respect Rick. That's crap. Everybody had plenty of notice to predict. The ones losing out are the ones who got their scores in straight away.
You (the organisers of the competition) are showing Bias and favourtism in this decision, you know I am right in this too, which highlights who the bias is against. You (the organisers) submitted a list and asked us to predict...we did...certain favourites missed the cut by holding their predictions back...so they're accomodated for. Show me how it's fair to make those of us that did what we were asked within the time asked lose out??
TUESDAYS-SCORES-SHOULD-STAND!!
End of.

They will get no points as long as the prediction thread was posted at least 2 days prior to the game, which in this case it wasn't.
I thought you were one who wanted rules followed to the letter of the law, which is what I'm doing.

No you are not. You are showing favourtism to your mates who missed out.
Out of interest before this was posted this week before any predictions were made.
Rick asked me if I'd help by posting this weeks games and questions and we agreed to start Saturday but what the heck heres Tuesdays game.
If this is too late for any players we will scrub and start Saturday. If any one fails to post we could take that as this is to late. That fair for all?
If you think I'm doing it to benefit as you put it "my mates" (which happen to be people I don't even know or have never met) I'm afraid your sadly mistaken and are throwing accusations my way that aren't true.

Then why did he put the predictions up, just so we could look at them and go aaaahhh they're pretty!!??
FFS! If he had no intention of going ahead, he should have just said No fixtures this week, we start Saturday. The fact the fixtures went up gave the go ahead for the competition, you know it and Wykie knows it. You are taking the mick if you claim otherwise. Tou are now only highlighting the organisers cock ups more, to justify the punishment you are giving to others as a consequence of them.
What will the next one be?? I'll put Saturdays fixtures up, but if anyone over the age of 37 doesn't enter this week, we'll scratch it.
My question is what is more of a HOLLOW victory?

The Hollow victory is when they have accrued more points than those who play within the rules at the end of the season through being aided by the moderators to get them there. Which is what will have happened if you scratch the points those who played on Tuesday fairly accumulated.
Your cock up mate, not mine or anybody else who got their predictions in on time. Please explain why YOUR cock up, should take something away from others who acted comptently and properly.
Add Tuesdays scores to the Totals...You know its the FAIR nad RIGHT thing
to do.
And YOU haven't answered MY question;

Just like the Moderators of this board could bumble along with their heads up their arses for England!
To be fair I have bigger problems at the moment that arguing over some stupid competition, as you don't like the rules and you have pulled out of it I'm going to leave it at that.
There are no prizes up for grabs, it's just for a bit of fun and to create banter, nothing more, nothing less.
Arguements over a free competition with nothing at stake are what take the fun out of running them and taking part in them.
If there was a £1000 prize on the line I could understand it but there is nothing, zilch, fuck all on the line so I'll take you out of the competition and leave it at that.
Cannot believe this thread, all this fuss about a prediction league that is pure fun and games, or should I say was............I have posted my predictions for Saturdays game.
This constant arguing with Rick/Thorney about a mere blip due to techie problems and Wykie trying to keep it going mid-week is hilarious really if it wasn't so sad....
I would like it to be known, that I would have been more than happy to have missed a prediction; I missed the first week, so what........... it was meant to be fun.....

What an absolute load of bollox Chuckle, I didn't think you could get any more pathetic...you just have. You're making a big deal out of pulling out, say no more on the matter and don't participate any more, who gives a fvck, I know I don't.
