So 3 more points, this time against the away draw specialists of the league...

6th place eh...;)

Losses so far against the top two, a mid table team and the only real blight Blackpool...

So we are playing the shitest football;) ever and still sat in a play off place..:D

Good enough for me...

Keep up the sack Todd fellas... Someone somewhere will listen....

Well thats my thought, we have no one with that MBW style

I wasn't there tho - so what do I know!

tony d

My point all along Jimbo is that we are racking up the points whilst playing badly at times...

We get results... Thats the sign of a good team...The same manager picks the team when they are class on the pitch. A team can only look good against a team that allows them to...

If teams consistently shut up shop and get men behind the ball its nearly impossible to look good..

As long as the points keep racking up and we are in the mix thats fine with me...

We are in the best form weve been in for along time... Where we would lose before in games we come away with points....6 wins 5 draws only 4 losses so far is a decent record Jimmy for such a shite team..

No other manager will get more from this team...Especially none of the joke nominations that are touted on here anyway...

You mean they could play shite all season and still be in the play offs????

Or they could start playing just a bit better and cruise to third place..

Or they could play to their strengths week in week out and go for automatic slots..

15 games of doom and gloomers on here hasnt halted their points tally...

Points mean prizes .....

It doesn't matter how good you are, if a team comes and plays 4-5-1 or 5-4-1 you're knackered. See Man Utd Vs Lille as an example, Man Utd have got bloody fantastic players but get 10 hardworking players playing against you and how good you are is irrelevant. We got the win today against an appaling 'HOOF' side and thats good enough for me.

So you'd rather be entertained by 3-2 and 4-3 defeats and be relegated than be promoted with dour 1-0 victories and hard earned points?? Weird!

On a positive note instead of the usual doom and gloom shite...

- we came away with all 3 points, dont matter how we did it but we did.
- another clean sheet ( now 2 in a row since the return of big Don )
- up to 6th place in the table, yes, thats 6th place ( playoff position ) even tho we havnt been playing anywhere near as we can we're still pickin up the points.

I hope we do play better and cruise to 2nd place not 3rd

Whatever you say I have never ever been doom and gloom about the team and yes points do mean prizes but what we saw today was shockin and it could have been them sneakin the 3 points ! thats all !

'So you'd rather be entertained by 3-2 and 4-3 defeats and be relegated than be promoted with dour 1-0 victories and hard earned points?? Weird!'

Chuckle, but think of the children! Yes, of course I'd rather see dour 1-0 victories than entertaining 4-3 defeats. BUT, what's the point of going up if we are relegation certs? The prospect of watching us losing every other week and getting relegated doesn't bear thinking about.

I've not slated Todd or the players this season simply because I don't think we can do much better with the players at our disposal. The thing is though, we are managing to win games and get results even when we are garbage, and the feeling on the terraces is still one of despair. Why? because the entertainment value is zero and we keep getting lucky, and what makes it worse is that apart from the return of MBW there doesn't appear to be any light at the end of the tunnel. I mean how bad will it be and what will the backlash be like playing the same way and losing every week at a higher level?

I'll admit I don't have any answers, imho sacking Todd wont achieve much, but to expect the paying punters who were there today to be happy with their lot simply isn't fair. Honestly, dire doesn't do it justice.

That would be the same relegation certs we were the season after our promotion to the Premier League??

There's every point of going up, wether we are faves for the drop or one of the fancied teams. It's better to be at the bottom in a higher standard of football than the top of a lower one. If only for a season of increased income the higher level of football brings. Ask West Brom wether they'd rather have chance of finishing fourth bottom of the Premiership in a last day thriller or be vying for a top six finish in the league below. Ask Wigan, this years "relegation certainties" if they should have had another season in the "Championship"

If we scrape eighty eighth minute winners, whilst boring the arse of every one in the ground enough times to achieve promotion or play offs there won't be too many complaints. When AC Milan ruled 80's football with the one goal victories I bet you creamed your pants over em?

That must be a wind up? Losing in the PL was bad enough, but at least you knew you had been beaten by teams jam packed with talent and proven internationals. As somebody once said, 'it was almost a pleasure to watch us lose'.

Come on Chuckle, let's be reet, deep down even you must know comparing a home defeat to Man United with a 0-2 home defeat to a team like Crewe Alexandra or Brighton is just absurd. Watching us plummet to the depths of despair under Nicky Law was purgatory. In fact thinking about it, I'd sooner watch 4-3 defeats in League 2 than suffer that sort of sheeite in a higher division!

I'm off out now, it's not often you need a drink to cheer yourself up after seeing your team win, but today's one of them. :(

ChuckleBantam
10-22-2005, 09:22 PM
So it's come to this!!?? Rather than give a manager credit for achieving a decent League Position by playing to the strengths of his limited resources you'd rather crave for a side that can lose with style and flair just so ypu can feel you've had your moneys worth???!!! Cos that's what you are saying folks.

I'm gone!! You've all gone fucking bananas!!

G'nite!

But thats just it Chuckle - were not playing to our strengths......EVERY man including last seasons top players (Deano, Wethers, Bower, Schumacer etc) have not performed anywhere near their best this season - as i said to you whilst watching the England game, there's something you can't put your finger on - but it aint right.....we have been unbelievably lucky to get the results we have and to be as high as what we are in the table - one day the luck will run out and to be quite honest mate the performances rather than being play-off contending performances are more like relegation performances....:(

There's only been twice this season when IMO we've played good, attacking, entertaining football - Hartlepool and Rochdale - the rest have been boring, mediocre snooze fests....

bg
10-22-2005, 11:25 PM
agree with what Loyalish and KB have said. You have to be there to understand, it is really dire at the moment. You sit there just hoping something will spark them into life, and by the end of the match, if you can manage to get your head out of your hands, you just want to crawl away and stay in a darkened room. Today we were incredibly lucky, it is as simple as that. If we continue to play like that, we most certainly will lose more games than we win. Ok it is always better to win, but how come nearly every supporter who saw that match, agreed with what everybody is saying on here.

Chelsea won last years title by playing boring football, so did Arsenals boring boring arsenal team...

Everybody agrees!!!! BG i think not...Most are happy with the fact 3 points are there where none would have been last season...No one likes a poor win but they would rather see that than a poor LOSS...

The style of play is good enough away from home so you Paying customers say.. Yet at home its not, but the points are...??????

I agree with Chuckles in the main.... As far as Rangers post goes i would as Chuckles says rather scrape points to survive in the next tier than have blinding big scoring game defeats in this one..

All this you have to go bollux is just that bollux, ive been going to City for close to 30 years so im more than qualified to know what they can be incapable of...

As most over the years, ive witnessed some dire football, and will witness more in the near future.

Anyone who says they would rather watch City play attractive football and lose to become mid table or relegation fodder rather than play poor football which gets wins for promotion is a sheer unadulterated lying idiot...

The major difference Tone - is that Chelsea and Arsenal were selling out every week - were averaging less than 7,000 and are (apparently) loosing 1 million a year.....:( City are trying to compete in terms of arses on seats against a team (the Bulls) who are entertaining to watch and are at the top of their particular tree - the boring drivel were seeing at the moment won't make me and everyone else on here stop going - but it'll sure as hell kill our casual support and any chance we have of attracting new supporters!!!

Bet it doesnt if we stay top six... In fact if we stay top six it will increase no matter what the displays on the pitch...Thats football...

Stay away or undecided fans will come back...Fans like to be associated with a winning team regardless of performances...

If we are top six after xmas the crowds will be mid to high 8000 or more..
So on and so on as the season comes to a climax..The crowds are slightly worse than this time last term.. That was even after the magic of last October...

You underestimate the people from City Wrosemary... Success at whatever cost is all that matters at a football club... Fans stay away from mid table to relegation fodder teams because they play poorly not top table ones...

We shall see whos right on this pretty soon Mary... :D ;)

That's so obvious, you'd have to be a total numbskull not to see it.

Trouble is, you'd then have the TT mob moaning about having to queue longer for their drinks cos of the higher attendance. Maybe that's what the plan is. Play entertaining but unsuccesful football, drive a few more away, smaller queues for the beer and pies!!

Bullet,

it doesn't matter whether you know or not you are entitled to your views, and the fact that you back that up with financial support to the club, gives weight to your right to do so.

there will be always a select few who will bitch about other people enjoying each others company and the match, it is called jealousy, and normally from people who are insecure in their own abilty to attract and maintain friendships, none of which applies to you;)

I for one would rather stick to MY OWN opinion of how i see things rather than just follow the band of moaning and whinging brigade on here...

Please stop boring me with the "YOU DONT GO " rubbish... As judging by some views on here neither do you lot... Or if you do you stay in the Bantams Bar and bitch whilst the match is played...

The facts are there for all to see and no matter how many times some on here choose to predict City losses game in game out we are still in the top six..

So keep bitching, keep crying in your beer and keep up the you dont go so ner ner crap... Maybe i should start the Wrosemary sketch of "i dont know you but i know for a fact i have been to more games than you" sketch...

Thats probably true for the majority of people who come on here BTW...

Facts are you doom and gloomers have predicted nothing but woe for this team and yet everything shows that your predictions are way off the mark...

So to you whinging people i say keep it up....Its amusing how so many (well about 6) can be so wrong sooooooooooo often...

Remember to be able to watch a match you have to keep away from the bar and step outside...;)
