I cannot recall you ever watching the same game as me, if I'm honest Robbieurrrgh. I think SWP is alright, but he'll not cause Becks any sleepless nights, especially if he carries on the rest of the season as he's started it, warming the Chelsea bench, which in hindsight means his move wasn't the brightest one to make in World Cup year.

England are passing there way through the Poles with ease, I wonder how much better were keeping hold of the ball is to do with the absence of Gerrard & Beckham?
As good as SG & DB are, they both are always looking for the 50 yard killer pass which more often than not means we lose possesion!
Also having a natural holding midfielder (King)in the side gives us more balance, rather than two attacking midfielders like Lampard & Gerrard.

I agree Parrot - if were gonna accomodate Lamps and Stevie G in the centre of midfield - i feel that Gerrard is gonna have to be disciplined and play the holding role.....not his usual game but we look so much more balanced with someone playing that role, Hamann played that role for years for Germany yet still got chance to go up and score a few....

Nicky Butt brought us some solidity at the last world cup - we need someone to do the same next year!!

Strange one taking SWP off when Cole is playing so shite (can someone tell him we are playing in white tonight). Obvious one would have been Rooney left and Owen and Crouch in the middle.

Seriously Dave - i know you don't like him, but how can you say that Cole's playing shit? Did you see the ball to an unmarked Owen a bit back? As well has his attacking ability tonight, he's made sure Carragher has had plenty of protection......he's our first choice left midfielder now mate - deal with it mate....;)

Maybe its more a case of Lampard or Gerrard rather than trying to accomodate both players in the same team?
Its not always picking the best 11 players, but picking a team with balance & understanding.
Englands World Cup winning team had better players than the ones in the starting line up but Alf Ramsay picked a side he thought gelled together better.

He's done alright since he came on though. Helping out in defense too.Cole keeps giving the ball away. He's a luxury we cannot afford.

Most of the players played very well, others did well. Ironic cheers for Crouch straight away after comin on for someone who should of stayed ont pitch.. King had an excellent game IMO and is very unlucky to have the 2 players in front of him like he does..
