Please read the below before voting - poll public to ensure no multipul user votes (ie alter egos, if you vote with your alter ego your alter ego will be revealed)
What would you rather we do with this prediction league, I've been toying with a few ideas to keep it interesting throughout the whole competition and not to handicap someone too severely if they happen to miss a week. I have 3 ideas and you like your input on which one you think we should adopt.
1. Standard Week on Week Predictions till the end of the season
Basically this is what every other prediciton league is like, 1 point per correct prediction and it carrys on thought out the season till the end.
2. Dual League format
This is two leagues of equal size which run predictions for a month long. There is promotion and relegation each month and a monthly award goes to the person sat at the top of the league at the end of the month. This way would encourage new entries throughout the season by putting them in the second division with scores reset at the end of the month.
3. A league table based on matchups
This will be run on a weekly basis with player competing against each other. It basically is a league where each week fixtures are played against each other with the winner getting 3 points, 1 point for a draw and nothing for a defeat. 1 bonus point is given to the highest score of the week.
For Example week 1,
Player 1 v Player 2
Player 3 v Player 4
week 2
Player 1 v Player 3
Player 2 v Player 4
etc, etc.
The scores are based on correct predictions, so if player 1 get 7/15 and player 2 get 9/15 then player 2 wins.
As it stands 10 people are currently interested in the predictions competion so on the basis of option 3 that would mean 5 match ups a week with 9 weekly rounds or 18 weekly rounds if we played each other twice.
Which do you prefer, I prefer option 3 as I know there are several people on here already taking part in a prediction league and thought it might be good to have a variation so that is why I'm thinking of asking for any input you may have so we can use the prefered method.
