In the last 2 games we haven't looked threatening what so ever and the only goal we scored came from a set piece the way I see it is it's down to two things.
1. Our midfield is awful without Marc Bridge-Wilkinson, we lack creativity, we have no idea and are content we going from side to side or backwards. Marc makes the midfield tick and without him the midfield look lost, yesterday was a prime example of that as we didn't create a chance of note whilst playing against 10 men, infact Blackpool only had 3 shots all game and everyone of them were more threatening that anything we could muster. Ben Muirhead has the pace to go past defenders but never tries to make a run goalside which IMO would cause more problems and would be more positive.
2. Our strike partnership (Deano & Cooke) was working ok, we were creating many chances and looked threatening, then we put Deano and Cadders together against a lower league side and beat them convincingly but since then we have looked as sharp as a wooden spoon. Is this again a sign that we miss Wilko or is it that chopping and changing partnerships upfront don't allow the strike force to settle? As I say it wasn't broken so why fix it, Cooke may not of been scoring goals but now he has been taken out Deano doesn't look like he's going to score.
Any thoughts?
