Because for me Crooks is playing better, he was fantastic against Rochdale and deserves to keep his place. Hopefully Cadders will start up front with Windass and Taylor will replace Emmanual. The other players keep their places. Thats the best starting 11 IMO!

Crooks has showed more promise this season, hope he scores the winner tomorrow and makes beer and his pals look like prats.

Im being serious! I was often Crooks worst critic last season, however this season he has totally changed my view on him. Tom Kearney was absolutely shocking at home against Southend and was justifiably dropped. Did you go to Rochdale? Crooks proved how much he has improved and carried on his his pre-season form. I hope he plays tomorrow and puts in a good performance-he could be a big player for us. He has more strength than Kearney, Schuey and MBW put together and wins far more headers than any of them. I'll be disappointed if he doesn't start tomorrow.

(he'll probably start and be absolute shite now)

Crooks is a backup for Kearney - he'd be about 6th choice midfielder in my book!!

You really do have a thing about him don't you Ed? Have you been watching him "pinging some cracking passes" at half time recently?.....:D

I hope he rams your words down your throats tomorrow. He has improved-massively.

Did either of you two go to the Rochdale game?

Shipley Bantam
08-26-2005, 01:33 PM
From your answer no you didn't. Thats why you don't agree with me, I wouldn't be saying what I am if I hadn't been to Rochdale. Who it was against is irrelevant, he still proved he has improved beyond belief.

Ed

Your gonna argue the fact that Cadders has finally looked the part by scoring against Rochdale?

I seem to recall early doors last season, you called Crooks the best signing we had made in ages and were singing his praises. Then you started having a pint with beer and parrot at half time and became that indecisive bloke in the Pub character from the Fast Show....

Don't think so David - if it helps embelish your little story though i'll go along with it.....

BAP - in all seriousness mate - it was a bit of a twatty thing to say in the first place, i wouldn't even wish injury on Crooks - to wish injury on a City player is a bit pathetic....

Shipley Bantam
08-26-2005, 05:04 PM
Perhaps KB, but I wasn't wishing injury on Schumacher, my point was that it enables Crooks to have his chance in the first team- a chance I feel he deserves and otherwise wouldn't get if Schuey wasn't injured.

in fact i can guarantee that i'll have seen Crooks play more times than you mate.....

DO you not think this statement was rather twattish?

Crooks looked good in pre-season against the non-league sides and then looked out of his depth when we played the league 2 teams!!

Granted he is about 15 stone lighter, but that hasn't made him any quicker!!

He looked half decent on Tuesday, because the pitch was that short he didn't have very much ground to cover, also the ball tended to bypass the midfield and go straight to the front or the wingers!!

If you mean once they went down to 10-men, thus creating more space for him, he looked great then I agree!! Then again Craig Ramage would have looked good in centre midfield Tues!!:D

Schuey or Kearney or Crooks?!!

Crokks will play a big part this season, his passing has improved and as has his disciplin. I think he will prove all you doubters wrong tomorrow, and then continue alongside MBW for the rest of the season ( morrison(for away games) and muirhead(for home games) and petta ont wings)

taking the piss, (despite a recent resurgence) crooks is more likely to fall apart, stick cad in centre midfield

I have never liked Crooks, he is slow, and lazy, and has no imagination on where to put the ball.

I don't go to many away matches, but it would appear to me that he played better at them last season than at home. That was entirely down to Todd's tactics, he mainly sat in front of the back four, and did not have to do much running. At home when we needed to attack he had no idea, his passes went sideways and backwards, and was constantly directing traffic i e the ball away from him.

To even think that schuey would be better on the medics table in order to give him a chance gives me colly wobbles. He is in our squad because we don't have the money to replace him, he is there for emergencies in my view.

Now if he has improved................................I don't mind admitting it, but I would have to see a few more games under his belt in his improved 'shirt'

What the hell is going on with Schuey? His first half performance today was abysmal. After establishing himself in the team I was expecting big things from him this season, unfortunately he seems to be going backwards. Why???

Or back from injury too soon..

tony d

So i heard!!
Was Schuey that bad or lacking games??

Only Stew Peas, Donovon, MBW and Wethers had decent games..

Second half the lads just looked lost and knackered... But Colly were value for the win and showed they deserve to be where they are in the League..

We hit an inform team and our midfield was found to be very light weight...

Donovan kicking or lack of it didnt help though...Luckily his saves did though..

PMSL how did I know this would come up again. What was it you called Baldy earlier?? a c**t amongst other things as he searched through the archives to show you up, something you've attempted (and failed) to do here.

Maybe i've missed something but its the general consensus that Shuey has had a shit season and has indeed gone backwards rather than forwards from his first season. Even Crooks outperformed him ffs. Schumachers injuries and suspensions have given other players a chance that deserve it (Penford, Bentham) the latter who is now keeping him out of the side with his performances.

Keep talking shit Beeredupbantam, your good at it.
