I wonder why he's picking so many from the youth team ... Colgan to get a real try out in scotland or gone?

Probably to give them a run out before most of the first team get a go up in Scotland!

As for Colgan, I can't imagine Macca has let him go, not at this stage when we don't have a proper keeper. I'd say he's either seen enough of him and has offered him a deal or, like you say, he's saving him for Scotland!

A better defence -- giving the forads a chance to do their stuff

Are we still playing Guiseley on Monday night? Will those not playing today get a game then before Scotland?

Guiseley's against a 'Bradford XI' i.e. most of the youth and trialists I would have thought.

A couple of familiar names in the Avenue side. Mark Hotte who i remember playing against several times at junior level (ex-St. Bedes and played for Queensbury Celtic), think he had spells at Oldham and Scarborough. Ryan Sugden is another ex-Queensbury Celtic and played junior cricket at Thornton for a while but was 2-3 years younger. I think both played 5 a-side at Parkside late 80's on a Sat'day morning.

Thorne Clarke Daley and the Super Mclaren were just a class above in the first half.

Milton Turner was great!

No one else really stood out, but the class of them 4 players did, Thornes general play, Clarkes Commanding presence, Daley's unbeatable pace and Mclarens sensible creative play!

Mclaren score a 25 yard top corner scorcher too, was REALLY impressed with him.

Thorne was his old self, always there in the box.

Daley played like a proper winger, tracked back, and got to the byline before crossing alot, set up a chance.

And Clarke..Well it's him and Lee next season i'll tell you that, class player!
