When City sign a No 1 keeper and a striker, not forgetting the left sided player - I reckon McCall would love to be able to take a complete squad on the 2 games in Scotland - or are we in for another week of no comment and crummy alternative journalism from the official site and the T& A ?!

I would be suprised if there isn't at least 1 signing early on this week. The keeper is a must, but the striker signing for me is just as important.

The striker options at the club don't convince me.

Thorne - Will score goals but will we get more than 25-30 games out of him?

Conlon - Tries hard and i do quite like the lad, but could we expect more than 10 goals out of him? Needs 10 chances for every 1 he puts away, so can we create 100 chances for him?

Topp - I find the fuss around him unbelievable. Seems that some quarters think he can win the league by himself. How he has managed to convince people of this when he hasn't even completed a full 90 minutes seems beyond belief. Might get 3 goals if he's lucky (and even manage to complete a full game!!).

Doesn't seem enough for me...

It is very rare its as quiet as this with regards to rumours about potential signings. There is usually somebody who drops the odd hint, but at the moment its deader than a dodo.

I hope we do strengthen this week, I cant see much happening when the boys are in Scotland and then its the week before the season starts.

Fingers crossed.

Lmao, thats ace that...You criticise people for thinking that he can take on the League after a few games not even for 90 minutes..

..But you think he won't get more than 3 goals after only you've seen him that much too.

Contradictive lads.

I don't get why we can't get excited about Topp, he looked a class above from the glimpses I saw of him, and even if he isn't the game-breaker he brightens everyone's day up when he plays which is fundamentally what football is about.

McLaren could come and be awful, Lee could turn out to be slow and poor positionally and not help us out at all, but noone thinks like that because it's fecking pre-season and we're going up. Nuff said.

Topp should be able to play 90 minutes now and with a full pre season behind him there will be much expected of him - he is a real playmaker in my opinion with that little bit more that can get you points - someone we have missed since we lost Robbie Blake.

Get a decent goalkeeper and a striker to support Thorne and get at least ten goals, and we should go up as champions.

We haven't seen enough of Topp to suggest he won't score more than 3 goals, or he'll get 20 goals. I remain positive from the glimpses we've seen. And if he really does have the compartmental syndrome injury, then it's no surprising he hasn't lasted more than an hour because I've got something similar and it's extremely painful once you stop running, i.e. in Topp's case - half-time.
