You can get 6/5 on betfair for them to be relegated still! jawdrop:

They'd have to get around 80 points just to stay up, I honestly can't see that happening. You really have to feel for the fans!

Nobody will, we are going to champions after all the "eyebrow rasing" signings:rolleyes:

Managed to get £50 on it before the odds changed to 2/15! jump:

The fans must be reeling a bit to say the least - but out of adversity can come a new beginning

Makes sense to punish them for coming out of administration without a CVA but to punish them also for what previous owners have done is not right, surely the football league should try legal action against those who offended?

That sounds about right Ed

Your money is probably safe as houses, but I'd be tempted to sell some of the bet back before they consider an appeal!

They will not be successful in any appeal - the scum failed and so will others - there has to be some integrity in the game and all the shifting of posts upsets other clubs who played it by the official rules - one being City of course.
My concern is we could have 3 clubs ending up with minus points come August and that would make League 2 seem an easier task for promotion, and attract critics like the TBs lol - still I suppose we'd take it so we can get back to League 1 for 09/10!

It is an interesting suggestion that City "played by the rules" spending other peoples money and then walking away from the debt - not once, but twice. It was precisely because of the cavalier way that clubs such as ours were reneging on payments to creditors that the FL introduced points deductions for going into administration.

As for Luton - it couldn't happen to a more deserving case. They were, after all, the club that banned away supporters some years ago a decision that must have cost them a few bob.

you miss my point mate - City played by the rules on exiting administration, like several others - some clubs since have not and face a penalty - fine by me.
I agree with you about overspending and jeopardising the future of clubs - salary caps dependent on turnover / plus personal guarantees against company debts would force Directors hands - but the second part is a minefield - limited liability although you can be held liable by the DTI (I think) for trading whilst insolvent for example - bans as a company director can follow.
