It has become totally ridiculous that non-nationals, with no knowledge of football, buy clubs and play fantasy football with them.

I am not saying Avram Grant is God's greatest gift to football management but I AM saying that Roman Abramovich is just one example of a super-rich amateur player of premiership football by numbers.

I am getting sick of Abramovich's, Shinawaras, Gillettes, Hicks, Al Fayeds etc. Give English footbal back to the locals.

Zonne has a point, these people seem to have no real feeling for the game, look at the farce of Shinawatra at MCFC, The mans made them a laughing stock and expects to walk into a club thats won nothing for years and win everything straight away.

I must missed that season when we won the Preimership and Champions League....jawdrop: :)

They're hardly in any danger of ending up like us though in all fairness!! Can't imagine Jim Jeffries been drafted in to swap Ronaldo for Gary Locke and Rooney for Juanjo....:poo:

To be fair, the Glazers had no influence on that, as Man Utd's spending would've been similar without them buying the club and loading over £500m of debt on to it.
Basically, if Man Utd have one season where they don't reach the Champions League, they will have to sell players to keep up with the interest payments and could potentially do a Leeds.

It wasn't a suprise. There was talk of him going even if they won the Champions League. The fans thought he was a joke, he certainly wasn't an ideal choice for a certain section of Chelsea's far right support (though i presume they don't realise that Abramovic is a jew as well). He got racist taunts from his own supporters.

He never was going to last at Chelsea. You can almost see Lampard, Terry, Essien etc saying to the board that they wouldn't sign new contracts if he was manager. The Chelsea players seemed to have absolutely no respect for him.

How do you know that?

Maybe another board wouldn't have shelled out on Tevez and Hargreaves?

Then you'd have Man Yoo fans moaning on a Bradford City message board  that they hadn't spent enough money this season.

Most of the papers are speculating that Mark Hughes will be his replacement

A very unlucky man, always struggling to be accepted, not helped by the English media. Chelsea it seems create their own problems.

Gotta feel sorry for him eally..

Carling Cup Final
Lost League on last day of the seson
Champions League Final..

Only Anelka in wasnt it????

If he did this as an unqualified new Prem manager you think he would be worth a punt even if he did look like an extra from Torchwood!!

Obviously the next man in needs to look the part too..

Sparky would be a good choice and the right stepping stone for the United Job in two years time lol..

Chelsea will end up like the Spanish Giants if you don't win anything in your 1st season your out.

which is completely the wrong way to do it, as a manger you need 2-3 years to build your own squad and get them playing your way
