Anyone seen this film.. It is set in 1980 which if you do not listen you will not pick up on.

Saw it the other day and thought it was a real quality film.

synopsis

Llewelyn Moss finds a pickup truck surrounded by a sentry of dead men. A load of heroin and two million dollars in cash are still in the back trunk. When Moss takes the money, he sets off a chain reaction of catastrophic violence that not even the law--namely aging, disillusioned Sheriff Bell--can contain. Moss tries to evade his pursuers, in particular a mysterious mastermind who flips coins for human lives.

Some may find it slow but for me it was a blast from the past and a real gritty edgy thriller. The only bad point i thought was when one of the main characters died and you were cheated of seeing his demise.

The assassin/collector (Javier Bardem) is a real full on killer who is a treat to watch on screen as he just cleans house but in a more real life way.

Tommy Lee Jones is brilliant and understated as the Sherrif on the trail of both Moss and Bardem.

With Moss being a great joint lead in the film as an ex vietnam vet who has total faith in his own ability to cope with anything thrown at him no matter how unwise that is.

Fully reccomend this film to all. Let me know what you think of the ending as i do not want to ruin it...

I thought it was an excellent FILLUM.
The character played by Javier Bordem was a right nasty bastrad and the 'toss of a coin' scene in the gas station will go down as one of THE best of all time in my humble ...
