As big a hero as the Gene Genie is, there's no hiding from the fact that overall Ashes to Ashes is poor in comparison to Life on Mars. Sure the co, star is more shaggable, but it's not really doing it for me.

Actually I agree with Chuckles. I'm enjoying Ashes to Ashes, but it's nowhere near as good as Life on Mars.

It's not as good, don't shoot the messenger, read the reviews. I enjoy it, but it's not as must see as Life on Mars, the Gene Hunt character has been toned down and Alex Drake hasn't got the edge that Sam Tyler did, because she knows what is going on and why she's there, wheras Sam's predicament was totally alien to him and that was a good 50% of the plot line of Life on Mars.

Mind you if someone told folk like you shit was a delicacy you'd eat it , see the blind way you go around looking at City for proof.

I make my own opinion on stuff based on what i find. Not what the reviews say, and not what you moan on about. If you don't like it, change it. If you're not prepared to change it, stop moaning about it.

Gene Hunt was good at that in Life on Mars, the same way as he's good at it on Ashes to Ashes, but to people who like something challenging when watching something, that's not enough. Life on Mars had that extra, Ashes to Ashes sadly does not. If that's enough for you, maybe you should give CBEEBIES a try? It's on everyday and it's all in bright colours!
