Next season City will have fans behind both goals...

Players want it and apparently enough fans do too...

Worst case if they are not filling it they should dish out free tickets to school kids like some clubs like Sunderland have done in the past...

100 ST ticket holders will have to shift for the new away area and im sure this will be the thing that certain posters will vent their anger at...

For the rest of us >>>>>

I think you might find a few old stalwarts have wanted this far longer than you, and have asked for it. But well done anyway. tup:

If the lower section was converted to terrace I would have considered it...

... memories eh?

Im glad that the fans who campaigned for this are actually taking up the offer.. personally I do not like that end, it's very open to the elements and, with just the one tea bar, there is usually a rather large queue out in the open..

The lower tier may just as well be one big flat terrace, as the seats are virtually level with each other with hardly any rise as they go further towards the back..

Well done, both to Mark and Alan for negotiating with, and getting this passed by the relevant authorities, just shows it could have been sorted a long time ago.. tup:

It's a good idea if the people who texted in to sit in there actually do fill it, however I won't be doing it personally.

Ok good idea i will go along with it but................................... what happens if we do happen to go up in the next few years and have the problem of accomadating 4,000 away fans.
Would that be a case of moving ST holders around again :(

Congratulations also to the persistent fans who raised their voices to ask for this to be considered, including Adie! ;) I believe at one time or another Shipley bantams, Shelf Bantams and the Supporters Trust have all been in discussion with the Club about this possibility, and that was the catalyst that saw the trial happen last season.

Perhaps the longer term view is a consideration of a "safe standing" area on the lower tier, which in that end is far more workable than any other part of the ground.

Not if we go up a level do you honestly think it would be the same offer if we had have achieved promotion this season ;)

Not if we have 20,000 Season Ticket Holders! ;)

yep... it would probably be a matter of reducing the away capacity - i.e. allocating only a certain number of tickets to visitors....

Not if we go up a level do you honestly think it would be the same offer if we had have achieved promotion this season ;)

If we play promotion football what's to say the freebies won't buy a ticket the year after? Especially if they keep doing them at £150ish, if we got a signifiacnt number fo them committing to buying the season after we would see an immediate increase in revenue, even if the average crowds went down! It's hardly rocket science is it! roflmao:

So you think that Lawn would have done a bogof deal if we had have gone up this season :)

So the thought of 10,000 folk getting in for nothing over possibly 6,000 paying l666s fans at £20 a ticket would have outweighed it :)

If you think all of a sudden 20,000 folk would fork that out on the back of promotion then you are very deluded :)

when we were last doing really well i.e. 1998/1999 we were selling out the stadium, just over 19,000 - nightmare at the time.. and SFB is right, half would be a major bonus.. tup:

Not slagging it off at all ML and JR would be fucking simple to run such a scheme in the league above.Rather than all them folks getting in for nothing rip every other West Yorkshire club off instead :)

Gary1975

1998/1999 we were selling out the stadium

Towards the back end when the Kop was down in capacity was it under 15,000

You only have to look at our second year in the top flight to see how well supported City where on the back of some errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr at the time decent signings :(

It has gone up this time so why will they not offer something simmilar..

All they have to do is knock it up a touch more if we went up... Nothing spectacular.. But with the same incentive..

If it went up to £180 that would still bring in 1.7 million in tickets.. Plus by then all the catering cash profits etc that the 9000 paying and 9000 freeloaders lol are scoffing.. Plus the added shirt sales etc etc etc etc..

It could work right up till the point of over demand... What if in the Championship we had a simillar offer and 15000 bought season tickets???

Cannot give each a freebie then...

So it does have it's limits but a slight increase will not detract folk from buying if progression is seen to be made and the club is moving in the right direction..

Success always breeds success but in football success also breeds greed..

Fact of life..

I think, if it works this season, then that figure of 9k for freebies will be around what they are looking at i.e between 18 and 20k (I realise they wont all be at every game, even so, the seat will not be available to sell) - any more and we could struggle seating wise.. however it would be a major plus, profit wise, in the food and merchandising areas.. plus, I do believe, the programmes do not cost much to produce - dont quote me on that as I am not 100% sure..

Dr Wisey

Can i quote you on that Panther? - for my City gent article lol

SFB is right in that success breeds success - and let's hope that greed does not rear it's head if we achieve promotions - human nature being what it is.

Can't see this working out long term really.

People who want to watch the game will soon be put off by the terrible views and facilities in there.

The only positive will be if those who go to VP purely to bait stewards and sing about how much they hate Leeds all move in there and keep out of everyone elses way.

Think the idea is that the singers will sit there to make atmosphere!
