Does anyone agree that our pitch is in poor condition? I know historically there have been drainage problems in certain areas and it shows after any bad weather, but, I felt on saturday before KO, that the pitch looked especially poor - all over, and got worse as the game went on.
You see piches at other grounds, even at this time of year, where they are still green and smooth and well covered.

I was thinking this! Do we have a full time groundsman?

I think the last time we had major work done on it was when we were promoted to the Prem... I remember looking out over it, upon our return from Wolves, and seeing tractors all over the place and no grass (wasn't sure at the time whether it was the alcohol though) ... lol
I don't think anything as major as that has been done since though as funds simply were not available.

Gilli used to do it. I assume there is someone but perhaps the weather has been particularly bad this year. We have had late frosts, not a lot of sunshine, and at times torrential rain.

In an ideal world yes, but ours is not an ideal situation financially is it and they do what they can with the resources at their disposal.. tup:

You have a lot to learn my friend! Yes it is important but it is not the most pressing financial concern. I would have thought given our history that the taxman features before the pitch budget as well as players wages, ground rent, utilities, insurance etc etc.

I have it on good authority that the game was nearly called off very close to kick off on Saturday but pressure was put on the officials to play the game!!!
The drainage was redone when we got promotion to the prem - its a shambles that a small amount of bad weather can threaten fixtures when we have the ground and facilities that we do.....
The ground is the built on the steepest hill that any ground in Great Britain is built on though so i believe, so inevatably the water table will play a part!!!

As for the graffitti - I thought you sat in YFS ? have you not looked to see if it has been removed  if it hasn't then just report it tup:

We don't have a family stand! it used to be the Norman Corner, but that was closed ages ago.
Know what you mean though!

It was in the stairwell to C block and left by TBs after their first visit. I mentioned it a couple of times to JP volunteering to bring a pot of paint with me. It has been gone for about a year or 18 months.

Only just spotted this one... it was dissolved when we went into the prem.. we used to raise money for the things the club could not afford to spend money on i.e. one of the items was an icemaker for the changing room/treatment area, also I believe we may have bought or replaced one of the washers or drier.. plus quite a few other things that were considered not to be top priority in those years.. tup:
Having said all that, I believe I read something somewhere recently about a similar group either currently active or being formed..
