According to Stu, this is the reason we lose to clubs. "They see the ground and the crowds we get here and it raises thier game" (paraphrased). So according to this equation, we should be better playing at home rather than away. Or does it mean that our players get scared in front of 14k crowds, and relax and play better in front of 4k crowds. If that is the case, Stu shouldnt be looking at the oppo team for excuses on thier performance levels - he should be looking at our shrinking violets who don't perform at home on a regular basis. Fck me, if you can't get motivated playing in front of 14k crowds, 90% of who are supporting you, then you shouldn't be in football.

Scrap the BOGOF season ticket promo now, Omar et al will be cowering in the changing room with the thought of 20k eyes on them!

To me that's a bit of an arrogant statement to put out, and can only serve as motivation to future opposition.

Saying it on a thread last night, the 14k crowds actually hamper us I reckon given the amount of abuse dished out when we aren't beating someone 10-0.

I think we are a much better away team not just from the way we play away from home but also because there is less pressure and more encouragement. Even when we lose away, apart from the odd occassion when we've been absolutely abysmal, I usually come away feeling better about a performance.

As for a game at VP being like an away teams cup final, who knows, only way to find out is to ask them.

Well ffs it's his job to sort that out and get the players up for every game..

Piss poor excuse really..

That's the difference between good managers and average ones.. Setting your side out to be ready for every game...

Must try harder Macca that mate is one of the owrst excuses out of VP for a while...

I agree - its seems to me that he is blaming a lot of things these days except the players. Good job we don't have an unlucky changing room (yet)...or that old chestnut will be coming out.
