Going back to when i first started supporting City:
Les Chapman - his last season played every game - a real gritty player.
Peter Beagrie - bargain buy - nuff said -
Bobby Campbell - no other club wanted him - 130+ goals
Wayne Jacobs - free from Rotherham
Ces Podd - cost nowt
John Hendrie - cost nowt - what a player in his day!
Stu McCall - snapped up as a kid
Peter Jackson - great captain
Greg Abbott - great player
Lee Duxbury - ditto
And on and on = proving there is quality out there without signing big cheques.

How much were Halle and Terminator???
Halle was £50,000 wasn't he? At the time we got Wetherall for a lot less than was being quoted - £1.2m when Southampton and Huddersfield had agreed £2.5m I think it was.
We got a lot of Leeds players on the cheap...before they got us back with Hopkin. Good god, David Hopkin...still remember that miss the opening day of the season at Anfield when he was clean through...

Even further back, 2 duds in Mick Bates and Paul Reaney.
Remember up at Hartlepool during a poor game, a silent interlude was broken by the cry of "Taxi For Bates" that brought the house down amongst the City fans
