problem is we have Clarke injured (AGAIN!!!!!!!) and Bower just returning to fitness after his operation and Ainge is on loan somewhere.
Wethers has slowed up dramatically with the heavier pitches and it's like watching a fekin 500,000 ton supertanker when he attempts to turn!

We might have to wait until the close season to try a new combination out. Clarke is set to be out for a while, can't see Moncur being with us next season, Ainge is away on loan and Bower is still getting fit so our options are pretty small at the minute.

I'd love to sign Moncur but i don't see it happening.

Although i agree about Wethers pace, the problem is who will keep the defence straight when he does not play? Starosta is a kid and like hecks is always getting caught out of position. Clarke is liability and moncur is not sticking around! Bower is not fit yet and even when he is we ship goals cos like wethers he has no pace at all!!

Clarke is liability

Wierd I'm sure his inclusion coincided with us going on a run when we only lost about 4 in 20.

I agree...he was by far our best defender in most of the games he played in (While he can keeo himself fit) but what i meant was that as a defender who is going to keep the line he is a liability always going missing and occasionally resulting in disastrous own goals!!!

His massive plus is that he can actually run fast, unlike the juggernauts that are wethers bower and heckingbottam

Fair enough but I thought before he started getting a bit complacent the last couple of games he was a class above, strong, quick, decent on the ball and good positioning.

He needs to sort the complacency out but when fit he's still the first defender on the team sheet for me, I wouldn't call him a liability. He's not a leader I agree but he's not a liability either.

I think Williams might have the potential to sort the defence out, he was captain elsewhere I'm sure. If he ever plays again that is after he got undeservedly booted out (IMO).

Couldnt agree more about williams i thought it was harsh as do others around me in the ground!

Incidentally Clarke can be a leader (he was captain at Darlo for 2 years) but he goes missing positionally which you can not do if you are marshalling the back line.

As for williams i doubt it, but i did used to think he was the best at getting Colbeck to make better runs and staty in position on the right!! IMO he really helped colbeck on with his game.
