View Full Version : Season Ticket Offer update

As would be expected, the season ticket offer for next year has been welcomed by supporters but it is also throwing up some questions which Head of Operations David Baldwin has promised to answer.
He said: "In response to the e-mails I have received over the last few days I wanted to answer some of the questions raised.
"I have been swamped with questions so please bare with me as it will take some time to answer them all."
The start date of the offer is 10^th March 2008
The deadline for renewing your existing seat is 15^th May 2008
The deadline for the offer of £150 per season ticket is the 15^th June 2008 and thereafter adult tickets will go up to £300.
The free tickets will be on a first come basis and we will be opening up the North West Corner and the Upper Sunwin Stand .
You will have the option to move seats to be with friends and family again on a first come first served basis, subject to availability once we announce that we have achieved the 9000 adults.
25-year season ticket holders, those adults who bought at Christmas and also senior citizens will be counted towards the 9000 adults.
If you have a supporters suite membership, then your entitlement for a second free season ticket does not include a second supporters suite pass and this would have to be paid for extra at £110 if requested.
Finally the club will definitely only release the free tickets on achievement of the 9000 adults by 15^th June 2008 .

Is it possible to get in at half-time?
Use season ticket to watch 1st half. Go out for smokes. Use free season ticket to get in for 2nd half?
I'd hate to put ideas into smokers' heads but someone on OMB suggested this.

Correct and free upgrade to the suites, don't get duped like a certain someone into paying on top for them.
I don't care what people say I spent £2500 on that ticket under previous administration or not. I am at least grateful that the Club offers something to recognise that commitment.

You will no doubt have a contract at work stating your salary is 15 grand a year...if they turned round and stuck 100 quid a week into your bank you'd be a bit miffed.

Millstone, KB? Since when? If they dropped the deal how many of the near 900 would piss off and never put another penny in? Do they want to risk it?

The 25 yearers got screwed but the current regime didn't have to honour their season tickets.
Instead of moaning they should be happy JR is giving them a decent rebate each season on their tickets.
I bet in only a few years they will have saved the £2,500 on their tickets anyway ;)

Aye but treating fans as unsecured creditors is hardly sporting is it old chap? The majority bought the tickets in good faith, they weren't owed money for services provided they were due the honouring of a ticket they paid for to support their club. I didn't do any work for it, I paid money for the bloody thing. I wasn't owed any money by the Club just owed the respect I and others deserved for the sign of loyalty shown at the time. I always intended to be supporting my football club for 25 years at least from the date I bought it, I wasn't merely snapping up a bargain. So no matter what people say I will always believe that whilst I continue to pay for my ticket I am being dealt a raw deal. And some still defend the master of this plan, a lying, thieving bastard of a man (and I don't mean the current co-chairman).

A few years? You reckon? I take advantage of the BB, if I was on the Kop in my seat that I got when I bought the ticket I would still have to pay £110 this year. By my reckoning that is a saving of £40 this year. It takes more than a few years to repay £2500, bearing in mind how few free seasons we have had. I aint doing the maths but I bet there's someone out there who could.
Any road, the new regime argument is bollox, is it or is it not still Bradford City whether it has a different trading name or what? The customers are not new ones, you don't just trade in history, this isn't a MK Dons situation where the history doesn't belong to the new regime. Get my drift?
Anyways, CIty tiol I die or go bankrupt eh!

My season ticket with BB priveliges costs almost £250...that equates to 10 years.
I presume you bought yours between 1998-2000, almost 10 years ago, taking into account the s/t were dearer back in the day, i'd say you've almost had your £2,500 already with over £15 years left.

True. If used right they will be cheaper than a normal season ticket. That's over 25 years of course. £110 for a season ticket and in the BBar is pretty good value in my opinion even if I have already paid for it! :D I'm sure last year I had to pay an upgrade for the BBar though....SFB tells me he didn't...perhaps my memory is playing tricks on me but I'm sure I paid it! I personally think Julian Rhodes has got it spot on over the last two years with his ST offers. Including the prices of games I have attended by myself alongside my £10 a game, I get for it now and by the end of the season, my 138 quid will have netted me the equivelent of a £218.00. Due to the fact a mate of mine and I are putting 75 quid each in to buy one season ticket next season and taking our freebie when the suckers take the total over 9000, that means over the two seasons, I will have had two season tickets and be a fiver in pocket. And there are still some halfwits on here that take the piss out of me buying one! There are sometimes some real advantages of having a fuckwit or two in the boardroom and this is definitley one of em! tup:

Parrot you choose to go in the bantams bar, a 25 yearer has the option to get free upgrade but still pays the £110 even if they don't go in the suites and that can be determined by other circumstances. Compare it to someone who hasn't paid the extra charge to go in the suites.
I take your point but I think too many people look at it and expect the 25 yearers should have just swallowed the loss - and they were hardly likely to vote against a CVA that represented the only way THEIR beloived bantams could survive. Hardly fair. Some people are probably still paying off the debt or were when they were required to pay again. The fact that there is a constant here in JR as he was on the Board at the time of the offer is what is both fair and unfair, at least he has acknowledged that a deal had to be done to recognise loyalties of the majority of those who bought one but on the flip side they have still been stung with paying agains for something they had already paid for.
Anyways I'm not moaning about having to pay my £110 this year, just trying to show the situation in a truer light than just saying the Club has 900 people that represent a financial millstone round its neck. Yes they do but perhaps the blame for that is not at their feet but at the instigator of the scheme. And still he is lauded!
