It's a great idea, I hope it comes off.

Yeh but then we won't hit the target of 9000 sold so freebies won't be up for grabs.....!!

For some strange reason I understand what you are typing:eek:
Some people who purchased this year may collaborate with another and hold out for an even bigger bargain, BOGOF

If folk do that we'll never hit the target of 9000 so the BOGOF offer won't come into it!!

£3.25 a ticket and potentially 18,000 gates ... Pretty amazing offer really..
Come on Dave where are you and why will this not work and why is Rhodes about to take us under???
I'm sure you will let me know why this is such a bad idea..
The only one i will give you is as we do not have the catering we will not make any extra money so effectively we could still have the same wage budget ensuring same level of players..
So apart from that "WHAT HAVE THE RHODES EVER DONE FOR US" LOL
Sadly will not read this till Monday as im off on leave..

A fantastic offer, people will knock it and yes potentially fans may collaborate to try and get the freebies, but it won't work. Its a win win situation and a catch 22. People will want the free season tickets for themselves but in order to get them they need to buy one for 150 quid themselves or we won't reach the 10,000 mark. If people hold out for the freebies and we dont hit 10,000 in time big deal, once they realise that they can't get the freebies they'll probably pay for one at the excellent price of 150 quid. Either way i think we'll hit the 10,000 mark eventually, we'll either sell 10,000 or 20,000. Either will do me.

Yes a great deal. The prices have certainly come under £10 to £20 that I expected.
I hope Mr Baldwin at the club has got some major marketing ideas to help push them towards the target figure - approaching even more businesses to buy a few at a time etc - not just in Bradford - but in the wider West Yorkshire area.
If it a success - it may see the club get even more kudos in the press and footie circles - and posibly bring in more sponsorship.
Wel done JR/ML.

Good marketing whatever a doom monger may say - commercially the club will be much more atttractive to advertisers and sponsors , so they can generate more income that way, the media will take interest and we'll be the talk of footie again - with all those nasty jibes about free tickets for all (yawn)
So - £150 + £75 + £110 + £50 for me and jnr to enter the Bantams Bar next season, that works out at £385 ish plus probably a free season ticket for us to take a guest to games - a few kids aorund our way need indoctrinating to the VP/City ethos - looking forward already to 08/09!

As an after-thought, do those that bought a ticket pre-Christmas get included in the figures, so we could be a good way towards the 9000 already, and do they get a freebie at the end of it, or have they secretly been shafted, which right or wrong would make me chortle! Sorry, I'm that way out today, better than being mister angry!

The offer also applies to those supporters who took advantage of the club's offer to renew at this season's price in December and 25-year season ticket holders

Great Idea if it comes off. I personally won't bother, even if 150 quid on it's own is excellent value. If they reach the target and start giving more seats away, every man and his dog will be able to get to the games for next to nowt, so my sell on scam that has proved so fruitful this season won't be feasble I reckon, because even if we are up with the Fairy Lights, theres no way 20,000 fans will be in VP for every game, especially if the tickets have cost em nowt.
Credit, where credit's due, personally I'd rather the ground be full with 20,000 paying customers experiencing a higher standard of football in a higher division, but that's light years away so I suppose this is the next best thing. At least the undynamic duo have realised they might as well start giving away the shite their business is peddling in order to try improve it. Might work, it might not. But worth a try.

It's a good idea, and kudos to them, but you won't see 20,000 actually at Valley Parade. There will be a lot of unused tickets - even so we might see crowds around the 15,000 mark.
Dr Wisey
02-26-2008, 09:26 PM
yep I'd go with that, but they will say there will be 20,000 as the crowd whatever - if the seats sold then they are counted lol

Very long shot (and one I am not expecting to happen before anyone wades in).
However, say we did go on a great run between now and season, get in the play-offs and take 30k to Wembley - at £150 I'd imagine we'd be able to sell a lot more than 9k tickets to that lot in the euphoric aftermath - maybe the club will end up shooting themselves in the foot!

Doesn't matter though in a way, our lass has a season ticket I got her this year she's hardly been, but the Club has had the brass for it.
Only way you'll get a packed stadium is by giving a shedload of freebies to schools and getting a load of kids coming.
