This fella has chosen some good pubs but the descriptions sometimes make me wonder if he has actually visited them himself.

Bécasse is in fact a woodcock, not a lark.

A la Mort Subite does not have anywhere near a hundred kinds of beer, only about 20 or so and it annoyed me that last time I was there they refused to bring the bottle with your beer. They just dumped a glass of beer on your table and you had to assume it was the one you asked for.

No 7, Poechenellekelder. I don't know where he saw some steep steps to go down into a puppet cellar when, despite its name which means cellar, you actually go UP stairs to the bar.

And he missed out this collection of bars that I linked to a while ago.

Nice pub crawl nonetheless.

Excellent. I'm going to Brussels next week (well Groot-Bijgaarden, not so far away). I'll see if I can persuade my colleagues into a few of these.

Another thing. A La Mort Subite is not the name of the brewery that supplies its beers. It is the name of A beer, brewed by the Alken-Maes brewery, named after a card game called sudden death.

You'd almost think that article came from the Daley Male, not the great Grauniad.

Whereas the above picture symbolises the new pressure being exerted by Islam upon the Church of England. From the Mirrorgroup.

Really?

I thought it was just a photo of a footballer grabbing another by the nads?

Must read the Gaurdian more often.
