According to Beerbantam he played well, was big and strong and no slouch....so hopefully he's just what we need tup:

He's definitely leaving Fulham in the summer according to reports on their board so Macca seems to have got in quickly for a look at the lad with a view to signing him

With Wethers going we will need 3 Center backs -- we have Clarke and Bowser if he stays -- is TJ good enough to come in, there is still Ainge who is out on loan -- 2 good players in this position are the heart of the team

I thought he was strong and looked cultured enough on the ball to say he's still a kid and it was his first proper game. Better than Starosta anyway. :D A few shaky moments and he seemed to lob it up field way too much for me rather than seeking the simple ball... having said that his ball up field for the first was very good.

BTW I'm just joking about Starosta I thought his pace really helped yesterday against their left winger who would have ripped Williams apart. His first properly decent game I think.

The defence mostly played well yesterday which helped limit Notts County to a pitiful amount of chances despite their superior possession on the ball. It was just Daley, Colbeck and EJ in midfield who were utter dirge for the first hour!

McCall did well and switched Daley up front with Rhodes coming on on the left and the extra pace stretched their defence which ultimately gave us the win. The midfield had a lot more space which especially helped Colbeck and EJ who were having shockers and turned into world beaters. Then the goals came and it was game over.

Is this like when BantamLad claims Daley played a vital part in the set up for a goal after making a simple 2 yard pass about 5 minutes before the actual goal went in?

The substitution totally changed the game, with Daley being allowed to drift anywhere upfront- and the Notts County defence never got near him. Daleys part in both Thornes & Rhodes' goals was class!

EJ had a mare for 90 minutes and failled to retain the ball once, his distribution (once again) was terrible and his 'pass' from the kick off after County scored was the first time i'v really heard the crowed get at him in a serious wa-he's finally being found out by the masses. The worst player yesterday in a City shirt by a mile.

On the whole i thought the defence played well, even though in the first half it was all County, they never really got through and looked like scoring.

Bullock was steady and broke the game up well. In the first half only Colbeck looked a threat from any of the forward players, though like i said the substitution (Rhodes for Will) changed the game and we breezed into the lead and put the game to bed.

IMO, still room for loads of improvement but a good win and the beers always good in Hooters!!:)

When posted last week team for County game team line up, I mentioned willy should be dropped and Daley moved up front, seems to be a tactic that works well away form home!

As for Thornes goal, Thought it was a 60yard Moncur punt ala Bowerjawdrop::)
