Assuming the other thread has merit and the season ticket early bird price will be less than £200, I cannot see it being anywhere near last year's £138 so I'd estimate it will be around £190.

If it is will you be buying one? Again for those regulars in the Bantams Bar I can only assume that the top-up fee will be as per last year, which is £100, so I can see most of the regulars on here having to pay almost £300 next season minimum.

Will we get anywhere near as many season tickets?

Personally I will, because I will no doubt be offered an upgrade with my 25 year season ticket and I'll get a discount.

If I was looking at paying for the bantams bar I don't reckon I would, I mean it's hardly tempting with the bar prices and the tiny portable tellies you have to watch through binoculars!

I would no doubt still get a ST cos of blind loyalty but it would be out on the terraces again.

I wonder if the Bradford End poll is a success will the Club sell discounted Season Tickets for there?

I'll get one regardless...

OK.. the football hasn't been champagne and at times we have looked more Benny Hill than Brazil... but I have found most games more entertaining than any under the Todd era.
At least we don't play that defensive bore fest of recent seasons.

I'll happily pay whatever.. as long as I've still got a job that is.

Ok maybe the poll was wrong. Most if not all of us on here will get one, we are part of the hardcore. But will the Club benefit from such an increase in prices or should they be looking to maximise revenue by keeping the price closer to this season's?

Snap I have purchased two. Re amount as i have said - I think to attract sufficient numbers - it will have to be around the £160- £170 mark.

Morally, I'm only going to buy one if they are £138 or somewhere near. If not, then I feel the club have lied to me. The Christmas deal was advertised as a Christmas present and the prices would be the same in March / April whenever. If they go up substantially then it's another nail in the coffin of directors killing football, especially after last season's great deal.

On the other hand I'd be at a loss what to do on Saturday's. Apart from a few years of doing sport for school on Saturdays, I've done nothing else than watch City on Saturdays since my first memories. Short and curlies springs to mind.

Still think they should be £150 max.

It was never plugged as an early bird price, merely a chance for family to buy presents for City fans. See my rant above.

Hot off the press - £169 and £79 - plus usual premiums for suites and BBar.

How do you come to that conclusion?

I've already shown you a link from the T & A that quite clearly states the Christmas prices were a special offer while next seasons prices would be released during March.

I dont know who you are or how long you've being a "fan" but if your grumbling because the club with the cheapest tickets in the league are slightly increasing their prices then maybe your the sort of fan we can do without?

I dont want to pay an increase on my s/t anymore than you but im not gonna moan while they're still cheap as chips.

I don't care what it said in the T&A. Even then, the implication was that the prices would not go up in the summer. But I was told from the horse's mouth it would be the same price when season tickets go on sale but for a short time only.

Yes, last's seasons deal was a fabulous one. But the club should continue to look after its fans and not lie to them. Just keep us in the know and they get far more credibility than keeping us guessing. If they said in December, you can get them for £138 now or £160 when they go on sale in March, then at least we know. It's not the price that I'm complaining about but the usual sh!t PR from the club.

I took advantage of the December offer to renew at last years price. Even if i'm only getting down for about half the home games it still represents a hell of a saving compared to pay as you go.

I agree re; the liars at the club and the shit PR but i dont see what more they could have said on this matter.

ML told the T & A that this was a special offer until the end of December and they would release the new ticket price in March with an increase in line with inflation.

Your last line sums it up to me. The club bent over backwards last season with this offer. And they deserve 10 out of 10 for it. But to ask fans to renew in December - eight months before the new season - is too much for me. You couldn't afford it, I couldn't afford it, others were probably the same.

I read the offer at the time is "This isn't the renewal period. That will come again at the usual time for the same price. This is an offer for family to buy fans a Christmas present."

I can put up with a rise in line with inflation, which will take the price to somewhere near £145, but if the club take the piss too much, then they will have undone all their good work and good will, with a botched renewal offer. If they hadn't done the Christmas offer and then put prices up to even £200 next season, I wouldn't be complaining. But no club should be asking fans to renew so early at "early bird" prices then put the prices up.

We're all guessing at this stage anyway and we'll see in due course what the price comes out as.

Parrot, read your own post mate, at one point you say "a slight increase". £60 is not slight in my opinion, it is an increase of 50% on the price from last season there or thereabouts.

I will buy one but I don't agree that the price should be anywhere near £200 for the early bird offer.

Why not go for first come first served at £150 for first 1000 tickets sold, then £160 for next 1000 and so on, tough if you don't meet the deadline, and you can buy online so you don't have top get to the club to buy them for our friends who have eveauated Bradford!

I've already said it's not the price, but the principle of the thing that I don't agree with. £200 is decent value, not great, but decent value. Had they not done the Christmas thing, then £200 would have represented a fair price to pay. The Christmas deal is completely muddied the waters. Ignoring price for one second, do you honestly think it's fair to ask supporters to renew their season tickets in December, eight months before the season starts?

Parrot
02-23-2008, 12:28 AM
Thats why they said it was a special offer at Christmas for the fans to take advantage of if they wanted too.

I bet people would still be moaning if it the Christmas deal had never happened anyhow!

Our fans would find something to moan about even if they were giving the fookers away!

For the price of a packet of fags a week or a pint and half a week you can easily save the difference.

If you can't sacrifice a fiver a week for 3 months to watch "your" team play then like someone said earlier, dont bother coming next season.

Go and support another club....You might have to pay another £50/£100 more like, but least you'll have your principles eh?

I will renew one of my tickets, pretty much whatever the cost. However the second one I bought, for when my son is at home or we have a visitor that wants to go, is much more price sensitive. If the renewal price is above £150, the second one will go.

I am quite annoyed about the lack of publicity for the Christmas offer, I did not hear about it until it had closed. The great BCFC publicity machine could not even muster a letter to go out to season ticket holders :-(

I also bought a second one this year but not next if the price is what I have been told.

Parrot, we were led to believe that the early bird price would be very reasonable but would go up to account for inflation. I never expected it to be £138 again but perhaps an early bird offer of £150 would attract more and maybe convince me to get another ticket again.

I fear that we will not see how this impacts on the numbers anyway because of the Christmas Present offer, that now appears to have been the early bird offer. Ah well. See you in the BB on Tuesday!
