Anyone else been watching this excellent series on the History Channel/ channel 5?

Its about the truckers who risk their lifes driving over frozen lakes delivering to diamond mines in northern Canada.

They can earn a years salary in 2 months so take the risks of an icy death!

Great viewing tup:

I watched it first time around on cable and it was brilliant, they are a brave bunch driving over frozen lakes whilst the ice is breaking under them.

Lol....would you take the risk of driving your 30 ton load over a frozen lake?:wet:

Im sure they work after the 2 months in "normal" jobs too though ;)

I wouldn't do it and they are brave BUT I watched it and it seems like it's an easy enough job with phenomenal pay so the incentive is clearly there for people to do it. Which seems a rare occurence in modern society with nurses and soldiers etc on seemingly knack all.

All I'm saying is I wouldn't particularly single them out for massive praise, although I'm not saying that's what your doing either.

Im not, just pointing out what a good show it is tup:

I wasn't really looking at it from a "brave" angle...I bet some of em truckers would shit their sens if they had to sit through a season watching BCFC! :poo:

I watched a bit of it and it was interesting. There was a similar thing about a 'road of broken bones' in Russia a bit ago as well, seemed a lot scarier as they left a few of the wrecked trucks on route as a warning for drivers who thought they could get away with going over the speed limit! Can't remember what channel it was though.
