A mate loaned me this dvd and said it was as good as he's seen for drama. Well, "The Shawshank Redemption" is certainly worth watching and will keep you quiet on these dark,cold nights. Starring Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman,it is a prison drama with a difference.I didn't see it when it was around the movie circuit but it sure kept me quiet for a while. Cheers.

Exclusive!! Man walked on the Moon and England won the World Cup!!

Seriously, it's a great film, seen it at least a hundred times. It is consistantly in the top three of greatest films ever made lists and polls, yet it was a total flop in the cinema, nobody saw it and word didn't spread until it was released on Video, when it got it's justified reputation as one of the greats. Surprising thing is, it was originally written by borefest "horror" writer Stephen King.

Shawshank is probably my favourite film of all time, along with Green Mile. Got it on DVD and must've watched it 5 or 6 times.

Anyone hear about the two blokes that escapes prison in the US a couple of weeks ago by digging a hole in the wall of their cell and covering it up with a large poster?

it's a good film but once you've seen escape from alcatraz you'll realise where they nicked most of thier ideas from. plus everyone goes on about this film which takes the edge off it for me. i'm shallow.

Shawshank is a good watch simply for the outstanding performances from Robbins and Freeman. There are better though.
