First half we started off not at the races and if it hadn't been for the Don we could have been 3-0 down within the first 30 mins!

The rest of the half was us penned in our half with only a few rare sorties into the opponents half :( .....a plus point been Bullock who looked big and strong in the middle tup:

Second half was a complete turnaround with City forcing the play from the off....we scored shortly after the restart when Colbeck played a cleared corner back into the box and after a shot was save, Clarke slotted the ball home in the area with a neat finish....1-0 jump:

Instead of sitting back as is usually the case when we take the lead, City had Stanley on the ropes but only poor finishing and good saves from the keeper kept the score at 1-0.

Daley was terryfying the Accy full-back on the left wing while Joe Colbeck was having a good game on the right!

In the last 5 mins, Accrington hit the post and forced a few corners that would have been a travesty if they had scored...but from one of these corners City broke, Omar Daley run the full length of the field and brushed past a desperate last ditch challenge from the defender and tried to take the ball round the keeper, unfortunately he got a hand to the ball but could only knock it into the path off JoCo who then chipped it over the stranded keeper and cooly slotted the ball home despite a defender standing on the line....this sent the large City contingent into raptures....2-0 jump:

No, which was surprising cos Conlon was breathing out of his arse for the last 15 mins!

Well It was sort of an assist as he knocked the ball back in the box that lead to the 1st goal ;)

I was talking to Macca in the pub after the game and he said JoCos only a young lad, learning his trade which fans sometimes forget!

I asked him why we were so poor in the 1st half and he said he couldn't understand it as they were well up for it before the kick off!

Mind you, they made up for it in the 2nd half tup:

If Colbeck can master the art of putting in decent crosses then he would be a great all round winger for us in League 2 or 1 - maybe it's confidence but you'd think he'll be busy spending extra time on this after training - maybe it's a confidence thing or maybe he's thinking he could earn more doing summat else?

Both him and Omar put more than enough good crosses into the box today, most of which weren't taken advantage of by our strikers.

As most of you know i am one of Colbecks biggest critics at times, but credit where credit is due,he was man of the match and his goal capped off a great performance from him.

I was talking to Stuart McCall in the pub and he said ''Joe is so frustrating and there is no one more frustrated than himself at times when he is crossing the ball and it is going for a dead ball, but he makes up for it,as he never stops running for you all the game.''

We asked Macca what Omar had,had to drink at half time?so McCall shouted over to Omar ''These lads want to know what you had to drink at halftime?''
Omar replied with a big grin on his face ''Red Bull''

The Accrington Stanley keeper after the final whistle had gone, turned round to the City fans behind the goal and applauded them, which i thought was a great gesture.I doubt their right back, who Omar ran rings round in the 2nd half, would have been so kind,as he got some great banter off the City fans down the touch line side of the ground.
